ChannelS and SK Broadband’s co-produced ‘Walking Food Troop,’ airing at 9:20 PM on Thursday the 25th, will depict the clumsy gourmet journey of three men unfolding in Hanoi, Vietnam, the mecca of Asian gastronomy.
Kwon Yul, Yeon Woo-jin, and Lee Jung-shin head to ‘Old Quarter,’ the oldest residential area in Hanoi, showing high expectations for local foods such as Vietnam’s representative dishes Pho and Bun Cha, as well as the street food powerhouse Banh Mi.
However, the trip to Vietnam is challenging from the start. The streets are filled with motorcycle parades and the scorching heat exceeding 37 degrees strongly oppresses the pedestrians.
In the end, the eldest Kwon Yul, exhausted from the heat, waves his hand saying, “Please don’t touch, no touch please!” and Lee Jung-shin also expresses discomfort with “It’s a bit much for guys to touch arms…”. Eventually, Yeon Woo-jin declares “Let’s do individual play today,” officially stating distancing, creating tension in their ‘dream and reality travel.’
