‘Triple Star’ Accused of Embezzlement Amidst ‘Privacy Allegations’

Private scandal involving Netflix’s ‘Black and White Chef’ cast member ‘Triple Star’, Chef Kang Seung-won, has been accused of embezzlement. On the 31st of last month, a post titled ‘Triple Star Accused of Embezzlement, Requested Police Investigation’ was posted on an online community.

The author, Mr. A, stated, “Recently, there was a revelation from Triple Star’s ex-wife.

The ex-wife is claiming that she discovered later that he sent a part of the restaurant funds to his parents, leading to a divorce” he said.

He continued, “We have requested an investigation into Triple Star’s embezzlement under Criminal Act Article 356 through the National Newspaper, notifying Seoul Gangnam Police Station” and attached the National Newspaper screen confirming the petition was submitted to Gangnam Police Station. Previously, a media outlet reported on Chef Kang Seung-won’s past suspected double-dealing, employment lobbying, verbal abuse, and threats through testimony from his ex-wife Ms. B and another woman he dated, Ms. C.

Ms. B married Kang Seung-won in May 2022 but did not register the marriage, remaining in a common-law relationship, and divorced three months later, while Ms. C stated that during her relationship with Kang Seung-won, she unexpectedly lost contact with him, only to later find out about his marriage and realize she was in a double relationship.

Regarding these claims, Kang Seung-won acknowledged the relationships with the two women but denied the incidents that occurred during the separation process with Ms. B.

Regarding the employment lobbying allegations, he said, “‘I worked as an unpaid intern at Venew for three months.

I worked incredibly hard, and was hired as a regular employee within one month.

Was it because of the Chanel bag?

I was recognized by the head chef” he defended. Reporter Yoo Ji-hee yjhh@edaily.co.kr
