[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Jung Se-yeon = Lee Jae-wook set a final condition for Choi Sung-eun.
In yesterday’s (9th) broadcast of KBS 2TV Weekend Mini-Series ‘The Last Summer’ (Directed by Min Yun-hong / Written by Jeon Yu-ri / Produced by Monster Union, Slingshot Studio) Episode 4, Baek Do-ha (played by Lee Jae-wook) and Song Ha-kyung (played by Choi Sung-eun) tried to persuade village residents for the success of the Pattan High School remodeling project.
In this broadcast, Do-ha’s decisive moment heading towards Ha-kyung was activated. Ha-kyung couldn’t hide her embarrassment when she heard Do-ha’s words, “Doing nothing and just waiting is more than enough for two years.”
She applied for a project transfer to Jeon Ye-eun (played by Kang Seung-hyun) to withdraw from the Pattan High School remodeling project but was rejected. Irrespective of Ha-kyung’s intentions, the high-profile collaboration between Do-ha and Ha-kyung on the Pattan High School remodeling project began, garnering the mayor’s expectations.
Ha-kyung first approached the ‘Pavengers’ village chiefs group to persuade them to oppose the school closure remodeling. However, despite Ha-kyung’s schemes, Do-ha completely won over the chiefs’ hearts with the secret weapon, Dugyeongju (azalea flower wine), famous in Pattan-myeon.
Subsequently, Chief Go (played by Kim Ki-chun) declared that the consent for the observatory would be determined by yutnori, and under the supervision of the women’s association president (played by Lee Soo-mi), a fierce yutnori match unfolded between Do-ha, Ha-kyung, and the Pavengers.
After a close contest, Do-ha and Ha-kyung dramatically clinched victory. Upon seeing Ha-kyung smile brightly, Do-ha also smiled and narrated, “Finally, you’re back. The Song Ha-kyung I knew,” evoking warm smiles from the viewers.
However, that was short-lived; on her way back to the peanut house, Ha-kyung reverted to her usual sharp demeanor.
Do-ha, undeterred by Ha-kyung’s cold tone, straightforwardly said, “Seeing you reminds me of the time I liked you. Then I think of myself who couldn’t properly say I liked you and left,” advancing boldly.
Thinking that the constant conflict with Do-ha was meaningless, Ha-kyung approached Seo Soo-hyuk (played by Kim Gun-woo) to say she would give up the peanut house and withdraw the lawsuit. Realizing Ha-kyung’s sincerity, Do-ha tried to hold on to her, but Ha-kyung was resolute.
With no more room to retreat, Do-ha brought up the final condition of living together until the observatory’s completion date on August 31st, and if it still wasn’t working out, he would disappear from Ha-kyung’s life for good.
Meanwhile, feeling troubled, Ha-kyung met Soo-hyuk at a restaurant. Though they bickered over food, they opened up to each other, bringing them closer. Ha-kyung and Soo-hyuk moved to his office, continuing their comfortable atmosphere with a bingo game.
At the end of the broadcast, Do-ha repaired various parts of the peanut house, touching Ha-kyung. Watching the restored walls and the house now adorned with ash trees and flowers, Ha-kyung was moved to tears.
They displayed their charming chemistry, playfully bickering over Dugyeongju made by Ha-kyung’s mother, and even splashing water like kids.
Ultimately, as if understanding Do-ha’s heart, Ha-kyung accepted his condition. The preview of their adventurous cohabitation delighted viewers, leaving them eagerly anticipating the next episode.
Viewers who watched the episode said, “Baek Do-ha and Song Ha-kyung’s love-hate romance is really captivating,” “Can’t believe Do-young died, shocking,” “To Ha-kyung, Do-young was like family, while Do-ha brings excitement,” “The OST perfectly matches the drama, absolutely perfect,”
“Why is Kim Gun-woo’s diction so good,” “Lee Jae-wook and Choi Sung-eun both act so well, it keeps you focused,” “Do-ha and Ha-kyung’s playful banter is so cute,” “So interesting, time flew by,” “The romance is starting now. It’s getting more and more fun,” responded with enthusiasm.
KBS 2TV Weekend Mini-Series ‘The Last Summer’ Episode 5 will air on Saturday, the 15th, at 9:20 PM.
