[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Kim Ye-eun = The unique big match between the Old Guys team and the Young Guys team brought joy.

Yesterday (20th), on the broadcast of JTBC ‘Street Food Battle’ (directed by Kim So-young, writer Lee Eon-joo), Ryu Soo-young, Fabry, Hwang Kwang-hee, Shin Hyun-ji, Bae In-hyuk, and Jeon So-mi formed a new competition structure named ‘Old Guys’ and ‘Young Guys’, capturing both taste and fun.

In the third business showdown between Ryu Soo-young’s team and Fabry’s team, following last week, the contrasting tensions between the teams aroused interest.

Fabry’s team not only captured customers with tteokbokki containing Spanish-style meatballs, albondigas, but also had a waiting line, sailing smoothly, while Ryu Soo-young’s team recorded low sales in a park with no foot traffic.

While Fabry, who spied on Ryu Soo-young’s team, was motivated, the bad weather left Fabry’s team with no visitors either.

In response, Fabry launched an enthusiastic promotion, and Hwang Kwang-hee joined the joint campaign by attaching a guide with a cute caricature and the phrase ‘Michelin Chef’s Dish’. With the reorder frenzy of ‘Pul-tteok-pul-tteok’, a combination of pulpo (octopus) and rice cake, and the promotion by the two, more customers appeared, bringing smiles of satisfaction.

Although there were fewer customers, Ryu Soo-young, who had the luxury of relaxed conversations with them, finished the business by preparing a meal for the staff with the ingredients he had prepared. Ryu Soo-young shared his regret, saying, “I was overambitious. I realized that you can’t run a business just with romance.” The business showdown between the two teams, which had different menus and atmospheres, ended with Ryu Soo-young’s team selling 20 servings and Fabry’s team selling 105 servings, with Fabry’s team taking the first victory by a landslide.

The next day, a business showdown unfolded between the ‘Young Guys’ consisting of Hwang Kwang-hee, Shin Hyun-ji, Bae In-hyuk, and Jeon So-mi, and the ‘Old Guys’ with recipe master Ryu Soo-young and Michelin star chef Fabry joining hands.

Particularly, the ‘Young Guys’ team introduced the show’s first cocktail zone, showcasing Jeon So-mi’s special menu. The tomato cocktail, with Spanish tomatoes, bourbon whiskey, and a spicy pepper aroma, targeted customers’ preferences.

Bae In-hyuk, Ryu Soo-young’s protégé, who debuted as the main chef, cooked grilled pork ribs with a smoky aroma, while Fabry’s protégé, Shin Hyun-ji, prepared Korean rest area-style roasted potatoes, making their growth evident.

Hwang Kwang-hee, who was in charge of the hall for the second time, charmed customers with a note on his back apologizing in advance for any inconvenience, and Jeon So-mi boosted the heat with a performance of making cocktails with a dance.

Meanwhile, the Old Guys team was prepared with Ryu Soo-young focusing on banquet noodles and spicy beef noodles and Fabry on perilla oil buckwheat noodles and red pepper paste mixed buckwheat noodles. The two introduced a self-service system for the first time, drawing attention by deciding to receive payment based on customer satisfaction.

Fabry applied a method of matching the customer’s appearance with the order form, but chaos ensued from the start when four separate order forms came in from one table.

Above all, a crisis hit the Old Guys team when the spicy beef noodle was omitted from a table with four order forms. The urgency with which Ryu Soo-young went into cooking the spicy beef noodles raised curiosity about whether the Old Guys team could safely finish their business.

Meanwhile, JTBC’s ‘Street Food Battle’ will air at 10 pm, earlier than usual, on the 27th.
