Singer Tony An (47) was revealed to be the original composer of the challenge music ‘BBikki Bikkki’, but it caught attention as he lamented that he only made 260,000 won due to not registering the copyright in the past.

On the SBS show ‘My Little Old Boy’ broadcast on the 23rd, Tony An appeared for the first time in three years and shared updates.

Tony An revealed that he wrote, composed, and arranged the song ‘BBikki Bikkki’, which gained popularity as a challenge music last year. Tony An boasted, “It has approximately 80 million views,” to which Super Junior’s Kim Heechul reacted with surprise, saying, “Even if it’s just 10 won per view, it’s 800 million won.”

He explained, “I didn’t make a penny while it was popular because I wrote it 20 years ago and the old company seems to have forgotten about it. I didn’t even think it was a significant piece at the time.”

The original song for ‘BBikki Bikkki’ is ‘My Lecon’ by JTL, a trio boy band consisting of Jang Woo-hyuk, Tony An, and Lee Jae-won, who debuted in 2001. ‘BBikki Bikkki’ is a rearranged version of this original song, with arrangements such as increasing the BPM (tempo), and is credited to an Indonesian DJ.

Tony An added that he later went to the copyright association and registered ‘BBikki Bikkki’ as his song. He said, “People there were surprised. They checked the article and said, ‘Is it really true?’”

He revealed that it has been three months since he registered the copyright and expressed bitterness by revealing, “The amount I’ve earned so far is only enough to buy one steering wheel of a large car, 260,000 won.”

The coin system itself is just a data scrap lacking value. If exchanges get hacked or disappear, you’d get nothing; it’s better to eliminate the value altogether. Already reached the peak, likely to plummet in ten years.

‘BBikki Bikkki’ plays when KIA Tigers, a KBO team, strike out an opposing batter during defense.

When this song plays, cheerleaders automatically stand up, give a thumbs-up, and perform a light routine by shaking their arms up and down.

Particularly, when cheerleader Lee Joo-eun was fixing her makeup, she automatically joined in this dance with an indifferent face, and the video went viral gaining much popularity. As of the date, a video of Lee Joo-eun dancing to ‘BBikki Bikkki’ on YouTube has accumulated over 93 million views.

Last August, The New York Times (NYT) published an article highlighting this cheer dance claiming it captivated fans worldwide, drawing international attention.
