[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Kim Ye-eun = Korea’s first childbirth relay variety show, TV CHOSUN ‘Our Baby Was Born Again’, delivered a touching story of an Air Force mother who fell into a coma after childbirth but is recovering.
Also, a husband with ‘azoospermia’ who had his fourth child for the first time in 18 years received results showing a 99.99% probability of being the biological father, and everyone blessed the birth of the baby born in ‘miracle’.
In the broadcast on the 21st, TV CHOSUN ‘Our Baby Was Born Again (directed by Lee Seung-hoon Kim Joon/writer Jang Joo-yeon)’, Park Soo-hong and Kim Jong-min went to meet an Air Force couple who were not lacking as the realistic version of ‘Descendants of the Sun’.
The Air Force couple, with the husband being a major and the wife a sergeant, were parents to four children and were one day away from the birth of their fifth child.
The two, who fell for each other like the protagonists of ‘Descendants of the Sun’, became a couple after a passionate relationship, completing their marriage registration within three months of dating.
The wife looked back on the first moment she saw her husband, the ‘realistic Song Joong-ki’, saying, “When I enlisted, there was someone like ‘Captain Yoo Shi-jin’ in the office.” Afterwards, the two had four children, and they were also planning the sixth one after the fifth who was expected.
On the day of delivery, the wife was given an induction drug. The husband continuously worried about her, saying, “I wish I could take the pain instead. I’m really good at enduring…”
As time passed, labor began, and the wife writhed in pain. However, the husband could only hold her hand, unable to do anything else.
The medical staff immediately prepared for delivery, and fortunately, the wife quickly gave birth naturally. While the two celebrated the birth of their fifth child, the doctor congratulated them, saying, “It was a smooth delivery with no need for an obstetrician.”
However, not long after, the Air Force husband reported that the wife was in a coma, saying, “She’s only breathing.” The Air Force wife, who was discharged in health, developed a severe headache on the 4th day at the care center.
Thinking it was a simple headache, they visited the emergency room due to the persistent pain. In the emergency room, the wife’s condition deteriorated to the point where she almost lost her eyesight.
A CT scan confirmed a cerebral hemorrhage, leading to emergency surgery. Due to high intracranial pressure and severe brain swelling from the hemorrhage, the Air Force wife was in a severe condition that required the removal of part of her skull.
Unfortunately, after the emergency surgery, the wife did not awaken. The husband anxiously waited for her recovery, saying, “I haven’t registered the baby’s birth yet. We have named the baby, but I wanted to tell my wife first, so I haven’t done it yet.”
Fourteen days after the collapse, fortunately, the Air Force wife regained consciousness and began rehabilitation to return to her children.
Ten days later, when she finally met her children, she broke into tears, and the son spiritedly said, “I missed you, mom”, holding her hand.
The second daughter also encouraged her, saying, “Hang in there, mom.” Finally meeting the fifth child she hadn’t seen since birth, the Air Force wife was even more determined to return to her children.
Apart from physical therapy, the Air Force wife also devoted herself to cognitive and speech therapy as part of her rehabilitation, sending a touching message to her five children, “Mom is working hard in rehabilitation to come see you, so please wait a little longer. I’ll walk to you on my own two feet. I love you.”
Meanwhile, Park Soo-hong and Kim Chan-woo met a couple caught in a ‘miracle’, even though doctors had diagnosed the husband as ‘incapable of pregnancy’. The protagonist was a wife who got pregnant with a late child, 18 years later, with a husband with ‘azoospermia’, having had a vasectomy and ‘sperm count 0’.
The wife announced the pregnancy to her husband five months into it, but the ‘azoospermia’ husband was bewildered. Reflecting on that time, the wife said, “My husband’s expression was like the world was falling apart. It was a look I saw for the first time in over 20 years of marriage.”
However, after seeing the ultrasound photo, Park Soo-hong and Kim Chan-woo were relieved (?). The baby in the photo looked just like the father, and the wife joked, “I guess I don’t need to worry?”
Moreover, the time of conception coincided with their anniversary trip, which made it even more mysterious how the husband with ‘sperm count 0’ could have succeeded in impregnating her.
The couple went so far as to conduct a paternity test after childbirth, and Park Soo-hong and Kim Chan-woo returned to hear the test results. On that day, even the county head, town chief, and medical center director came to congratulate the couple on the birth of their late fourth child, 18 years later.
However, upon hearing about the father’s ‘azoospermia’, the ‘congratulatory delegation’ was left speechless and in a turmoil of widened pupils.
Fortunately, the paternity test results the husband brought showed a ‘probability of being the biological father’ at 99.999997%, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief and fully celebrated the birth of the child. The couple expressed their love for the late child born after 18 years, saying, “We are thankful to the child who came to us with great difficulty.”
