Group 2PM member and actor Ok Taec-yeon revealed behind-the-scenes stories while changing agencies.

Ok Taec-yeon appeared as a guest on the YouTube web show ‘Serendipitous Brothers Shin Dong-yup’ released on the 9th. Actor So Ji-sub, who is with the agency ‘51K’, also joined this occasion.

Co-host Jung Ho-chul asked why the two became part of the same agency. Ok Taec-yeon joined his current agency 51K in 2018 while serving in the military.

Ok Taec-yeon said he was considering a transfer to an agency for full-scale acting activities, stating, “I was at JYP Entertainment and thought of moving to another company, so I met with several company representatives.” He emphasized, “One of my conditions at that time was to continue activities with 2PM.”

However, Ok Taec-yeon found it difficult to find a place that accepted this condition, sharing, “There were quite a few companies that didn’t like the condition of 2PM activities.” He mentioned that these companies required him to “officially retire from 2PM and fully transition into acting.”

Amidst this, Ok Taec-yeon shared that the current agency’s representative reassured him, saying, “It’s really fine. Doesn’t (So) Ji-sub also do it?” bringing laughter. So Ji-sub has released a total of 9 albums participating as a musician.

Ok Taec-yeon expressed gratitude, saying, “The representative’s words, ‘You can’t stop someone who wants to act,’ gave me great strength.”

Beside him, So Ji-sub showed a shy expression when his music activities were mentioned. When Jung Ho-chul asked, “Are you shy about this kind of thing?” So Ji-sub answered, “Yes,” and started talking about his music activities.

So Ji-sub confessed, “I wanted to sing at places where I could meet fans.” He added, “Always singing others’ songs made me want to do songs that contained my own story,” and “As I released songs with that mindset, they accumulated to the current number.”

He added that he only sings in front of fans and never elsewhere, concluding with, “I have released 9 albums so far, and I do want to reach 10,” bringing more smiles.
