The Suwon Cultural Foundation (CEO Oh Young-kyun) announced that it will hold the planned invitational exhibition ‘Shape of the Wind’ at the Suwon Traditional Culture Center’s exhibition hall Jin Su Won from April 29 to early November.

This exhibition, themed ‘Expression and Interpretation of the Intangible, Materialization of the Abstract,’ will feature works expressing various thoughts and emotions that the public can empathize with in various forms of artistic narratives.

The exhibition works implement ‘wind,’ which is formless, into various artistic approaches, such as abstract landscapes based on oriental images and materials, figurativism combining reality and fantasy, and ceramic sculptures shaping belief and essence.

This invitational exhibition involves a total of 5 artists, including Song Tae-hwa, Moon Hye-ju, Gwak Soo-young, Lee Da-ye, and Hong Keun-young, with individual invitational exhibitions proceeding sequentially in a relay format starting from April 29. The first exhibition is Song Tae-hwa’s solo exhibition, from April 29 to May 25.

Artist Song Tae-hwa has been actively building his unique art world for over 30 years across the nation, including Suwon. In this exhibition, visitors can see works expressing his signature dreamy paradise.

A representative of the Suwon Cultural Foundation explained, “The ‘wind’ discussed in this invitational exhibition symbolizes thoughts and wills that we eagerly hope for, as well as thoughts and emotions without form, like the blowing wind.” They also added, “Through each artist’s ‘wind’ embedded in their works, we hope you take the opportunity to reflect on viewers’ thoughts and feelings and interact with abstract artworks that might have felt unfamiliar before.”

The exhibition runs from Tuesday to Sunday (closed on Mondays and public holidays) from 10 AM to 5 PM. More detailed information can be found on the official website of the Suwon Cultural Foundation, and inquiries can also be made via phone.
