
Sting, the British singer-songwriter known for the soundtrack (OST) ‘Shape of My Heart’ from the movie ‘Léon’, has cancelled his upcoming performances due to worsening health.
On the 8th (local time), Sting’s team announced on social media (SNS) that “Sting’s health is not in good condition, and his doctor has advised against performing tonight.” They added that the concert scheduled to be held at a hotel in Hollywood, Florida, would be postponed to May 6 of next year.
In a similar SNS post on the 9th, Sting’s team further announced, “Unfortunately, due to Sting’s deteriorating health, he has been instructed by his doctor to postpone the performances scheduled for the 10th and 11th in Jacksonville, Florida.” Additionally, they mentioned, “We will inform you of the rescheduled dates for these performances shortly.”
Sting’s team also stated, “Sting eagerly looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as his health fully recovers,” and added, “We apologize for the inconvenience caused to the fans and thank you for your understanding.”
Active since the 1980s, Sting is a world-renowned star known for hits like ‘English Man in New York’ (1987), ‘Shape of My Heart’ (1993), ‘Angel Eyes’ (1995), etc. Born in 1951, he has drawn public attention for his active engagements despite being 74 years old this year, but he is currently unable to fulfill his schedule for a while.
