Korea’s leading entertainment and sports magazine, Daily Sports, has announced an additional lineup for the new music awards ‘Korea Grand Music Awards’. According to the KGMA organizing committee on the 11th, the two teams from the audition programs ‘Project 7’ and ‘Starlight Boys’ will take the stage at the ‘2024 Korea Grand Music Awards’ (2024 KGMA) Artist Day on the 16th.
As this is the debut stage for the participants of the two audition programs currently catching the attention of K-pop fans worldwide, it is expected to draw significant attention. ‘Project 7’, which is being simultaneously broadcasted on Korea’s JTBC and Japan’s OTT platform Abema, has recorded an astonishing rank of number 1 in the K-pop category since its release.
‘Project 7’ demonstrated its significant impact by achieving the highest initial viewership among Korean content broadcasted on Abema in the second half of 2024 after only 1 or 2 episodes.
Another additional lineup, ‘Starlight Boys’, is a Korea-China joint global audition program presented by Studio Prism and the global platform iQIYI.
They are expected to offer dynamic and high-quality performances at the 2024 KGMA.
The first ‘Korea Grand Music Awards’ will be held for two days on the 16th and 17th at Inspire Arena, Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon City.
The 16th will be Artist Day, and the 17th will be Song Day, featuring performances from 32 artist teams under the theme of ‘The Birth of Galaxy’, with an epic showcase of around 100 songs. On the 16th, NewJeans member Hani and actor Nam Ji-hyun will host, with performances by NewJeans, Do Kyung-soo, TVXQ, BIBI, STAYC, (G)I-DLE, Young Tak, Yoo Hoe-seung, Lee Mu-jin, Lee Young-ji, Jeong Dong-won (JD1), ZeroBaseOne, QWER, Taemin, P1Harmony, and more. On the 17th, AESPA member Winter and actor Nam Ji-hyun will take on MC duties, with performances by Now&Days, NiziU, DAY6, RIIZE, Song Ga-in, AESPA, ATEEZ, NCT Wish, Woogie, Eunice, Lee Chan-won, JO1, CLASS:y, TREASURE, FIFTY FIFTY, and others. The star-studded lineup and performance previews have initiated the countdown for the first ‘Korea Grand Music Awards’, which will recognize singers and music that achieved meaningful accomplishments in various fields of popular music such as K-pop, trot, band, and solo throughout the year. ‘2024 KGMA’ is hosted by Daily Sports (Edaily M) and organized by the KGMA organizing committee.
