[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Jung Seoyeon = The new drama ‘Spirit Fingers’ captivates attention by revealing still cuts of Jo Junyoung’s model force ‘charm genius’. The character, which was incredibly popular as a ‘2D boyfriend’ in the original webtoon, has been perfectly reborn as a ‘3D boyfriend’.
‘Spirit Fingers’ (Directed by Lee Cheolha / Written by Jung Yoonjung & Kwon Eeji / Original by Han Kyungchal / Produced by ㈜넘버쓰리픽쳐스·MI·케나즈) is a work depicting the colorful healing romance of youths on a journey to find their own color.
In the drama, Jo Junyoung takes on the role of ‘Nam Kijeong’, a model who captivates everyone with his innate physique and overwhelming visuals, showcasing both a free-spirited charm and cheerful energy simultaneously.
The still cuts released today (22nd) predict Kijeong as a ‘charm genius’ who alternates between cynical charisma and a free spirit as a model.
As Green’s (Park Yoona) younger brother, Kijeong sometimes becomes a model for the drawing club ‘Spirit Fingers’ because of his sister. Kijeong, wearing a pure white outfit and a fedora while gazing somewhere, exudes a visual like a picture-perfect spread.
Furthermore, his appearance in a leopard print shirt under strong lighting, as if dominating the stage, emits an overwhelming aura. Meanwhile, the still with him in a sleeveless outfit in front of a bright background exudes youthful energy and boyish charm, completing the reversal charm.
In the previously released highlight video, Kijeong’s superior appearance, which increases his social media followers exponentially just by being uploaded without any editing, was also revealed.
When Kijeong, provoked by the orthography of ‘Spirit Fingers’ member Song Wooyeon (Park Jihoo), declares, “I’m not going to model anymore, I’m joining as a member of Spirit Fingers!”, a shift in the dynamics of this boy’s life becomes noticeable.
There’s a growing anticipation of how he will create a colorful romance with Wooyeon in the future, and what kind of impact his unpredictable straightforward style will have.
As Jo Junyoung describes Kijeong as, “You could say he’s ‘My Way’. He doesn’t get swayed by the views of those around him, living life according to his principles.”, this character appears fearless and free-spirited on the outside, but harbors delicate emotions and firm sincerity within.
This two-sided charm will sometimes create tension and sometimes excitement within the drama, adding depth to the character. Given how popular the character was among original fans, being called a ‘2D boyfriend’, Jo Junyoung paid meticulous attention to bringing Kijeong into 3D.
He prepared extensively to realistically implement the strong styling of Kijeong from the original work. “I consistently discussed with the stylist on outfits that could capture the character’s individuality, including the bowl-cut hair and red school uniform.”
The production team stated, “Jo Junyoung is an actor who possesses both Kijeong’s innate model force and boyish charm. As seen in the released images, he will deliver fresh fun and excitement to viewers through diverse charms that aid Wooyeon’s growth”, adding, “Look forward to the growth and changes Kijeong will show in the midst of youth.”
The new drama ‘Spirit Fingers’ will premiere exclusively on Tving on October 29 (Wednesday).
