[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Yong Sun-mi = Designer Son Jung Wan successfully showcased the new collection “THE BEAUTY OF BEING” at the 2026 S/S New York Fashion Week stage.
Korean representative designer Son Jung Wan has made a record as the first and only Korean designer to participate in New York Fashion Week for the 27th time, continuing her unique vision on the global fashion stage.
Starting with the OST “GOLDEN” of K-POP Demon Hunters, this collection extends the style from the last season, encapsulating the designer’s own thoughts, emotions, and values rather than conforming to others’ expectations or views.
Son Jung Wan explores the pure joy of design and the essence of creation, blending emotions, values, harmony and conflicts, and the message of sustainability into a coherent worldview.
The colors adorning the runway were full of intense and lively energy.
The collection achieved depth and balance by harmonizing Luminous Blue, symbolizing radiance; Jelly Mint, representing recovery and emotional needs; Pop Pink, bold and intense; and Neutral Ground, bringing stability.
The use of diverse materials is also noteworthy. Pink tweed and patent expressed confident self-expression, while mint sequins symbolized digital sensibilities and futuristic identity.
Lace and handmade embroidery conveyed the designer’s identity and ongoing narrative, while organza and chiffon created an experimental and unique mood with flowing natural silhouettes.

In this collection, Son Jung Wan’s eternal muse, ‘Kelly Rutherford,’ graced the front row, and her son ‘Hermes’ made his runway debut, adding a special touch to the collection.
Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s stylist ‘June Ambrose,’ actor and singer-songwriter ‘India de Beaufort,’ and many celebrities as well as buyers from Dover Street Market, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, and others attended to prepare for the next season’s buying. They were joined by a lot of press from both domestic and international outlets such as Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure, W, Marie Claire, and the New York Times, garnering hot attention.
Son Jung Wan’s side stated, “This collection focused on authenticity and creative expression, which was successfully embodied on the New York stage.”
