“Silent Night” Seohyun, Girls’ Generation’s Eternal Maknae “Gradually Increasing Informal Speech” [Interview ③]

Singer and actress Seohyun shared updates about her time with Girls’ Generation members. On the morning of the 23rd, an interview was conducted at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul with Seohyun, who appeared in the movie ‘The Holy Night: Demon Hunters’. That day, Seohyun said, “I have been seeing my older sisters since I was in fifth grade. They perceive me as a baby.

In fact, we are only one or two years apart, and socially we are peers, but at that time, the gap felt huge,” she said. “It seems I have continued to have the image of the youngest, acting as if there is a ten-year difference.

Even now, when I meet my sisters, I revert to that youngest self.

I think it will last a lifetime,” she said.

She then added, “Now that I’m in my early to mid-thirties, I’ve gained various experiences and matured personally, but I’m grateful to return to that era when I meet my sisters.

It’s nice to have seven ties that are not easy to meet in a lifetime,” she added. Regarding the coffee trucks that the Girls’ Generation members send to the filming set, she said, “It’s a ray of light.

In difficult situations when I couldn’t even sleep, when they sent a coffee truck, those around me would say, ‘Indeed, Girls’ Generation loyalty is awesome,’ and I felt proud and thankful that the sisters thought of me,” she said warmly. “Seeing that they seemed to have thought a lot about the inscriptions, I was touched.” After their 17th anniversary, she is slowly speaking informally with the members, “In the past, even though we were already close, it felt awkward for both the sisters and me to speak casually. But as the years went on, more people started doing it, and I felt I wanted to do it with the sisters because there was surely a difference in closeness,” she said. “In case the sisters find it too sudden, I tried to do it naturally little by little.

I recently got used to it while shooting YouTube with Hyoyeon unni,” she said.

Although there are many members who are recently active as actors, she also added that they encourage each other rather than give feedback.

Seohyun said, “Rather than advice, they encourage me a lot by saying, ‘You’re doing well, so do as you like.’

Due to scheduling conflicts, they couldn’t make it to the premiere, but promised, ‘We will certainly watch and take proof shots.’

Now that we have done many works, there is no hard feelings among us,” she revealed. Meanwhile, ‘The Holy Night: Demon Hunters’ is an occult action film about a city in chaos due to a group worshiping evil, where a special ability ‘Holy Night’ team, Bao (Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (Seohyun), and Kim Gun (Lee David) take down the forces of evil.

It will be released on the 30th. Reporter Lee Ju-in juin27@edaily.co.kr
