[Star Daily News=Reporter SooHyun Cho] The MC of KBS2 ‘The Boss is Watching You’, Jeon Hyun-moo, is revealing an episode from his early days as a new announcer when his ‘old face’ DNA exploded.
KBS 2TV’s ‘The Boss is Watching You’ (Directors: Ahn Sang-eun/ hereafter ‘The Boss’) is a program for self-reflection and perspective-taking by South Korean bosses to create a more enjoyable workplace. In a recent episode, it hit a peak viewership rating of 7.9%, maintaining its top position in the same time slot across all channels for 130 consecutive weeks. (According to Nielsen Korea)
In the upcoming broadcast of ‘The Boss’ on November 24 (Sunday), Jeon Hyun-moo shares an episode where he was mistaken for a personnel team member due to his old-looking appearance when he was a new recruit. Jeon Hyun-moo reveals, “All my legendary videos came out during my early days in Daegu as a new recruit.” He humorously adds, “When I went to greet seniors, most of them asked, ‘Where is the male newcomer?’ They thought I was a personnel team employee, so introducing myself as a newcomer became a habit.”
Additionally, Jeon Hyun-moo recalls his time as a new recruit when he would greet everyone he met, automatically bowing. Um Ji-in notes, “Announcers are watched by everyone. When a new announcer passed by, everyone would recognize them, saying ‘Ah, it’s them.’”
On a different note, Um Ji-in mentions, “When I was a newcomer, Jeon Hyun-moo senior said, ‘Why do you, a newcomer, have the aura of senior Lee Geum-hee?’” piquing curiosity. A photo of 23-year-old Um Ji-in during her fresh-faced new announcer days was revealed, showing an extraordinary aura that amused everyone. The full story of Jeon Hyun-moo’s early days, when his old-looking DNA exploded, can be seen on the live broadcast of ‘The Boss’.
