This number of votes reflects the popularity poll conducted through DC Trend for one week from May 12th to May 18th.

PLAVE achieves triple crown and continues dominance

With this, PLAVE has secured first place for three consecutive weeks, achieving a triple crown. Since debuting in 2023, PLAVE has shown rapid growth, recently expanding its foothold beyond Korea to the entire Asia region. The group is set to embark on its Asia tour ‘DASH: Quantum Leap,’ starting at KSPO Dome in Seoul in August, touring Taiwan, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Bangkok, and Tokyo, marking a significant milestone as the first virtual idol to perform at KSPO Dome.

Music activities are also notable. The third mini-album title track ‘Dash,’ released in February, became the first virtual idol song to appear on the US Billboard ‘Global 200’ chart, and on the 16th of next month, they will release their Japanese debut single ‘Gakurenbo,’ launching their official global activities. It is an unprecedented case of a non-existent entity becoming a central figure in the K-pop market, drawing attention from both inside and outside the music industry.

New Jeans, Gathering Fan Hearts

New Jeans, who secured second place, received 19,279 votes. With the fandom ‘Bunnies’ showing rising activity, offline events and brand collaborations are ongoing, drawing attention from various fields. New Jeans have consistently topped music charts with every activity, establishing their unique concept.

Possibility for ranking reorganization next week

While PLAVE’s dominance is expected to continue for the time being, there is fierce competition for rankings in the middle rankings. Particularly, the gap between New Jeans and ONF is less than 300 votes, creating a scenario where the ranks could easily change depending on fan assembly.

Additionally, with many groups like SEVENTEEN, THE BOYZ, and N.Flying scheduled to be active, their rebound is anticipated in the next vote. Whether the upper ranks will be reorganized and the progress of new groups will be the main points to watch.
