(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Tae-soo = Girl group NewJeans reaffirmed their existing stance on the lawsuit filed by Adore for the confirmation of the validity of the exclusive contract, stating, “We are no longer affiliated with Adore as of November 29, 2024.”
NewJeans issued a statement on the 6th stating, “Adore cannot interfere or intervene in our activities.”
The members claimed, “We have already returned profits exceeding the investment amount to Adore and HYBE,” and further stated, “Despite this, HYBE has attempted various interferences, including attempts to defame us and create malicious viral trends, while Adore, after its management change, condoned this.”
NewJeans emphasized, “Trust in Adore and HYBE, which have repeatedly violated contract terms and failed to fulfill even the obligation to protect their affiliated artists, has already been broken,” adding, “There is no longer a reason to work with Adore and HYBE as specified in the exclusive contract.”
They also mentioned, “The exclusive contract clearly states that we can terminate the contract if Adore does not fulfill its contractual obligations.”
NewJeans criticized Adore for the lawsuit filed on the 3rd, stating, “It is merely a post-procedure to obtain confirmation from the court,” and expressed regret over Adore’s statement suggesting the contract is still valid to mislead the public.
