[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Kim Yaeun = ‘Boys 2 Planet’ revealed the results of the second survival announcement, bringing only 24 contestants one step closer to their debut dream.

Mnet ‘Boys 2 Planet’ (BOYS II PLANET / Directors Kim Shinyoung, Jung Wooyoung, Ko Jungkyung) showed that a total of 14,608,719 votes were counted from 222 countries and regions globally, proving the explosive participation of global star creators.

Dramatic survivors emerged amidst fierce ranking changes, amplifying the heat of the debut competition.

The reaction from the star creators watching was also heated. On this day, the 1020 female viewership secured the first place in the same time slot, including terrestrial broadcasting, and exceeded 92% of real-time peak share on the OTT platform TVING.

Moreover, the number of Mnet Plus viewers who are watching live from all over the world surged nearly 162% compared to the previous week in Korea alone, and real-time views increased by 40% compared to the previous week, showing a rising graph.

Amid solid popularity, global SNS platforms gauged the buzz. On X (formerly Twitter), not only did 20 worldwide trend rankings enter simultaneously, but over 90 keywords dominated high-ranking charts in ten countries, including Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia in Asia, as well as Brazil, Puerto Rico, and France.

Also, on China’s representative SNS platform Weibo, it ranked on comprehensive charts and in the entertainment and variety show categories, proving its popularity with each episode.

In the 8th episode broadcast on the 4th, the second TOP 8 was revealed. Zhou Anxin climbed to second place, gaining about 2 million more points than at the first survivor announcement, followed by Li Liao (3rd), He Xinlong (4th), Kim Junseo (5th), Jung Sanghyun (6th), Kim Gunwoo (7th), and Yoo Kangmin (8th), fueling the debut competition.

Above all, Lee Sangwon, the only contestant to break through 10 million points, reaffirmed the title of ‘undisputed first place’, proving the overwhelming support of global star creators.

A drama of rapidly rising ranks was also played out. Kim Junmin, who regained confidence and dominated the stage as part of the ‘like JENNIE’ team, soared 16 places to 11th place, and Jeon Ijung, who achieved a benefit-winning legend on his first rap position challenge, rose to 12th place, completing his growth drama.

Park Joonil, who showed solid skills, also leaped 22 places and settled in 13th place, starting to run on a steep ascent.

“Do not give up earlier than your fans,” said a famous and touching phrase by Ryu Jiho, who surprised everyone with a 14-step increase. The 24th and final spot went to Park Dongkyu, who dramatically put his name on the list after a live vote of the lowest-ranked survivor.

With this, the fourth global voting to determine the finalists for the next stage has begun. The fourth global vote, conducted on the global K-POP platform Mnet Plus until 10 a.m. on the 12th (Thursday), will allow voters to choose only three contestants, predicting fierce competition.

Also, before the second survivor announcement, the new songs ‘Lucky MACHO’, ‘Chains’, ‘Sugar HIGH’, and ‘MAIN DISH’ for the third mission ‘Debut Concept Battle’ were revealed, along with the lineup of contestants matched by star creators for each song.

However, only those who enter the all-star top 24 can perform on stage. Yet, their determination to take the stage regardless of rank, consoling each other and focusing on practice, brought a deep emotional impact.

Meanwhile, on the 9th episode of Mnet ‘Boys 2 Planet’, broadcasted at 9:20 p.m. on the 11th (Thursday), the 24 survivors will present the ‘Debut Concept Battle’ stage.

With numerous team changes inevitable, there’s curiosity about the final team formation and who will capture the heart of the star creators.
