Former Lula member Lee Sang-min has announced his remarriage with a new love after 20 years since his divorce.

On the SBS entertainment program ‘My Little Old Boy’ aired on the 11th, Lee Sang-min shared his marriage news by asking his close broadcast colleagues Seo Jang-hoon and Kim Jun-ho to be witnesses for his marriage registration. Seo Jang-hoon was initially shocked and couldn’t believe it, while Kim Jun-ho joked about only being able to believe it after seeing the photos.

Lee Sang-min’s wife is a beautiful office worker 10 years his junior and unlike him, it’s her first marriage. According to Seo Jang-hoon and Kim Jun-ho, the wife boasts celebrity-like beauty, resembling Kang Su-ji.

Lee Sang-min revealed that during a difficult time with panic disorder, he received comfort from his wife by sharing his worries and decided to marry her after three months of dating. “Just talking to her made me happy. I felt that marrying this person would lead to a stress-free life,” he expressed sincerely. The couple skipped the wedding ceremony with the wife’s consideration and only registered their marriage.

Lee Sang-min’s wife directly connected to the phone. She said, “We omitted the wedding preparation process because it could be stressful,” and “Lee Sang-min is a kind and warm person. He cooks well, and even though he’s not good with a knife, it’s cute.” When Kim Jun-ho and Kim Hee-chul expressed doubts, Lee Sang-min explained, “When Jun-ho proposed, the three of us cried together. That’s why it’s meaningful for the three of us to be together,” sharing why he chose them as witnesses.

After completing the marriage registration, Lee Sang-min appeared moved, saying, “It feels like a burden has been lifted from my heart,” and he teared up when recalling his late mother. The production team added to the emotion by preparing a video letter of Lee Sang-min’s mother reconstructed by AI. In the video, the mother conveyed a message, “I’m glad Sang-min, who was always lonely, found someone to be by his side. Live well. I love you,” bringing everyone in the studio to tears.

Lee Sang-min said, “If my mother were alive, she would have gotten along very well with my wife. It’s a shame I can’t show her, but I believe she’s watching from heaven,” showing a teary-eyed moment. Watching this, Seo Jang-hoon and Kim Jun-ho also wiped their tears, and other cast members in the studio gave warm applause.

Following the broadcast, reactions of support such as “I was surprised by Lee Sang-min’s remarriage news” and “I sincerely hope for your happiness” flooded in. The broadcast hit a 3.4% viewership rating in the 2049 target, and a 12.8% viewer rating in the metropolitan household, ranking first in weekly entertainment.
