[Star Daily News = Reporter Jo Suhyeon] Singer Lee Chan-won successfully concluded his concert in Gwangju, the last tour location.

Lee Chan-won held the 2024 Lee Chan-won Concert ‘Changa – Gwangju’ twice at the Kim Dae-jung Convention Center Multipurpose Hall on the 23rd and 24th, meeting with fans. It was the eighth performance following Seoul, Incheon, Andong, Suwon, Busan, Daegu, and Cheongju, and the last tour location.

Since June, Lee Chan-won has been meeting fans across the country for about five months, and he once again filled 3 hours and 15 minutes with a powerful and passionate performance at the Gwangju concert. With a diverse selection and composition, he delivered touching emotions and heightened anticipation for the grand finale at the upcoming encore concert in Seoul this December.

The performance began with the song ‘Sky Travel’ along with a VCR depicting Lee Chan-won’s life story. He greeted Gwangju fans warmly, and songs like ‘Red Camellia’, ‘Person Like Wind’, ‘Cheer Up’, and ‘Boom! Full’ raised the atmosphere. Particularly, the flashy stage setup, lighting effects, and the inclusion of sand art in the VCR drew attention.

Lee Chan-won performed ‘I Believe in You’, ‘About Romance’, ‘Yeonriji’, ‘Fervent Dandelion’, and ‘A Piece of Cloud Lying Across the Years’, drawing enthusiastic responses from fans. After the screening of a VCR video capturing Lee Chan-won’s humorous and versatile appearances (Chanto Wiki), a medley ‘LCW Gallery’ (including ‘Convenience Store’, ‘Going to Meet You’, ‘Sky Lantern’, ‘A Man’s Resolution’) filled with Lee Chan-won’s history as a singer unfolded, followed by performances of ‘Masterpiece’ and ‘Beautiful Day’, enhanced with guitar and piano accompaniment.

There was also a segment called ‘If Chan’s desires’, where Lee Chan-won sang songs selected based on fans’ stories. On the first day, he performed Na Hoon-a’s ‘I Don’t Know’, Tae Jin-ah’s ‘Okkyung’, and Cho Yong-pil’s ‘Let’s Travel’. On the second day, he showcased new and varied cover songs such as Hyun Chul’s ‘Like Stars with My Heart’, ‘Love’s Name Tag’, Jo Hang-jo’s ‘Because of a Man’, and Jung Soo-ra’s ‘Delight’, receiving explosive responses.

After the stage for ‘Wings’, he briefly presented Oh Seung-geun’s ‘What’s My Age’ and Kim Yong-im’s ‘Today Is a Young Day’. He performed a medley of ‘Boat Sailing’, ‘HOT STUFF’, ‘Dal Taryeong’, and ‘Gimme Gimme Gimme’, simultaneously showcasing the charm of Korean culture and the unexpected allure of international pop.

Concluding the main performance with ‘Like a Swallow’ and ‘Destined Relationship’, Lee Chan-won responded to the encore requests by returning to the stage. The encore performance kicked off with the ’70s and 80s medley (Includes ‘Because My Heart’s Weak’, ‘Wind Wind Wind’, ‘First Car’, ‘Thinking of You’, ‘Watermill’, ‘Spark’)’. He connected more closely with Gwangju fans through the ‘Jeolla-do Medley (Sorrow of Namwon, Rain on Honam Line, Tears of Mokpo, Mokpo is a Harbor, Southern Train)’.

Subsequent performances included a variety of encore tracks such as ‘Lady Boatman’, ‘Goodbye Busan Port’, ‘Hiding Tears’, ‘Island Teacher’, ‘Maiden from Soyang River’, ‘Chupungnyeong’, ‘Crying Over Bakdaljae’, ‘Cheer Up’, ‘Boom! Full’, ‘You’re My Man’, ‘Disliked Man’, ‘Nest’, and ‘Jinttobaegi’, which differed across the two days. The audience rewarded Lee Chan-won’s passion with cheers and applause. He concluded the successful 3 hours and 15 minutes performance by sending off the audience with ‘O.Na.Eon.Sa’.

Lee Chan-won’s national tour concert ‘Changa’ has been acclaimed as the best concert, offering distinctive and well-organized performances fitting each locale in multiple consecutive shows.
