Lyricist late Park Geon-ho (1949-2007) is commemorated with the ‘Park Geon-ho Concert’ on the 29th. This concert is organized by the Park Geon-ho Memorial Association (Chairman Kim Jong-tae) established in Wonju, Gangwon, the hometown of the deceased, with support from Wonju City, to commemorate Park Geon-ho’s achievements.
He was responsible for numerous hits including Cho Yong-pil’s ‘Short Hair’, ‘Mona Lisa’, Nami’s ‘Round and Round’, Jeong Su-ra’s ‘Ah, Republic of Korea’, Fire Truck’s ‘Tell Her’, and Choi Hye-young’s ‘That’s Life’. This concert, held with support from Wonju City and free admission for Wonju citizens, features performances by Song Ga-in, Seol Un-do, Jeon Yeong-rok, An Seong-hoon, Kim Su-hee, Sim Sin, Na Tae-ju, Jung Da-gyeong, Bok Ji-eun and more, engaging as a platform for communication and sharing for the community and marginalized neighbors without any guarantee. Kim Jong-tae, the chairman of the Park Geon-ho Memorial Association organizing the ‘Park Geon-ho Concert’ stated in an interview, “This concert is a special event to commemorate the lyricist Park.”
He particularly stated, “Many citizens of Wonju are not well aware of him despite his origins in Wonju.”
