[Seoul=RNX News] Seo-yeon Jeong, Reporter = The upcoming KBS 2TV new weekly miniseries, ‘The Last Summer’ (directed by Yeon-hong Min / written by Yu-ri Jeon / produced by Monster Union, Slingshot Studio), has officially released the first teaser poster capturing the excitement of a first summer love between skilled architect Baek Do-ha (played by Jae-wook Lee) and architectural civil servant Song Ha-kyung (played by Seong-eun Choi).

‘The Last Summer’ is a remodeling romance drama where a man and woman, friends from childhood, face the truth of their first love hidden in Pandora’s box.

Jae-wook Lee and Seong-eun Choi take on the roles of childhood friends Baek Do-ha and Song Ha-kyung. In particular, Jae-wook Lee expands his acting range significantly by playing dual roles, including Do-ha’s twin brother Baek Do-young.

During childhood, Do-ha and Ha-kyung spend their summers in a house built by their close fathers. However, due to his parents’ divorce, Do-ha, who has to live with his mother in the U.S., can only stay in Korea for 21 days during the summer vacation.

Ha-kyung keeps feelings for Do-ha but can’t express them, and eventually, an impactful event makes their relationship irreparable.

In the first teaser poster released today (27th), the fresh vibe of summer shows Lee Jae-wook (as Baek Do-ha) and Choi Seong-eun (as Song Ha-kyung) facing each other. Their subtle gaze offers both a tense atmosphere and innocent excitement.

The ‘The Last Summer’ logo at the top of the poster also captures attention. The hand-written style evokes a refreshing summer emotion and further enhances the work’s atmosphere. The image of the two characters standing back-to-back against a backdrop of vibrant green fully conveys the longing for a first love that arrived during a midsummer.

Regarding this, the production team said, “We wanted to capture the complex emotions of Do-ha as a summer guest and Ha-kyung, who could only see him for 21 days,” and added, “The perfect chemistry between Jae-wook Lee and Seong-eun Choi is expected to unravel the characters’ narratives more delicately, so we ask for your interest and love. It will be a warm drama in the chilly November.”

Meanwhile, ‘The Last Summer’ brings together director Yeon-hong Min, who has proven his delicate directing skills through series like ‘Royal Loader’ and ‘Missing: They Were There’, and writer Yu-ri Jeon, who showed solid writing in ‘Kiss Sixth Sense’, ‘Radio Romance’, among others.

The KBS 2TV new weekly miniseries ‘The Last Summer’ will air its first broadcast this November.
