Singer Kim Gun Mo returns to the music industry with a nationwide tour concert after 6 years. It is the first time in 6 years since he was embroiled in sexual assault allegations in 2019.
The performance production company, I Star Media Company, announced on the 26th that Kim Gun Mo will hold a nationwide tour “Kim Gun Mo.” starting on the 27th of next month at Busan KBS Hall, touring Daegu, Daejeon, Seoul, and other cities.
The production company said, “Although Kim Gun Mo was away from the stage, he never let go of music even for a moment, which is stated by those close to him,” and “his music never stopped during the hiatus.”
Kim Gun Mo rose to fame as a representative singer of the 1990s with hits like “Rainy Sleepless Night,” “Wrongful Encounter,” and “Excuse.”
Even after his prime as a singer, he enjoyed a “second heyday” through the SBS entertainment program “My Little Old Boy.”
However, in 2019 he was embroiled in sexual assault allegations and completely halted his activities. The case was concluded in 2021 with no charges from the prosecution, but the social impact was not small.

With Kim Gun Mo’s comeback declaration, there is a forecast that a debate will arise on how to separate and consume ‘a star’s personal controversy’ and ‘musical value’.
This nationwide tour will be followed by performances in Daegu on October 18, Daejeon on December 20, and Seoul next January after the Busan performance. Detailed performance schedules will be announced later.
