Singer G-Dragon was the only Asian to be selected as the ’21st Century Best Dresser’ by the American media Complex.
G-Dragon was ranked 16th in the 21st-century best dresser list announced by Complex Networks, an American fashion and culture media, on the 12th (local time). The list of 25 people includes global celebrities such as Kanye West, A$AP Rocky, Rihanna, Pharrell Williams, and David Beckham.
Complex commented on G-Dragon, saying, “He set the standard for fashion even before K-pop became a global phenomenon” and “He was always one step ahead of the trend.”
They added, “Even now, nearly 20 years since his debut, G-Dragon continues to redefine what style is in K-pop, breaking boundaries and inspiring all genres to treat fashion as a form of self-expression.”
From his debut, G-Dragon has been recognized as a style icon for his unique sense. Especially since being selected as Chanel’s first Asian male global ambassador in 2016, he has continued his activities. The products he introduced through collaborations with brands like Nike and Jacob & Co. have also spread as global trends.
This selection is interpreted as an official recognition of the influence G-Dragon has built over 20 years in fashion and culture in the global market.
Meanwhile, G-Dragon is set to hold an encore concert in Seoul for the 2025 World Tour ‘Wever Mensch’ at Gocheok Sky Dome from December 12 to 14.
