Actress Jo Yeo-jeong candidly clarified the past ‘funeral deep bow’ incident and brought laughter.
The YouTube channel ‘Tender Brother Shin Dong-yup’, released on the 25th, featured actress Jo Yeo-jeong and Jung Sung-il as guests. In the broadcast, Jo Yeo-jeong directly disclosed the truth about the ‘funeral deep bow’ controversy once revealed by comedian Kim Young-chul.
Jo Yeo-jeong recalled rushing to a funeral home after hearing the news of Song Eun-yi’s grandmother’s passing during a theater practice in her college days. She said, “It was my first time going to a funeral home. I didn’t have black clothes, so I wore the long skirt and black t-shirt I was practicing in,” adding, “I was nervous and worried I might make a mistake,” as she recalled those memories. At that time, Song Eun-yi told her, “Just do a deep bow,” which she took literally, intending to perform the deep bow typically done at weddings.

Jo Yeo-jeong explained, “I wondered if I had been ignorant until then. So, I went down, but my sister grabbed me before I completely lowered myself,” describing the embarrassing moment.
She continued, saying, “While holding me, my sister said, ‘Oh dear, are you getting married, you girl?’ It was so embarrassing,” sharing the scene that made everyone laugh. Shin Dong-yup playfully commented, “How delicately would she have bowed at that moment?” and Jung Sung-il burst into laughter, asking, “Are you talking about the deep bow where the bride and groom bow to each other in hanbok?” Jo Yeo-jeong admitted, “I did it beautifully, slowly. It was so embarrassing and shameful,” bowing her head.

Jo Yeo-jeong explained, “Some MSG was added,” though she eventually mimicked the bow, jokingly saying, “I hope this story ends now.” Still, she added, “I feel relieved but also worried about the days to come,” bringing more laughter.
Jo Yeo-jeong also shared her views on marriage that day. She stated, “I’m not anti-marriage. I prefer natural encounters,” revealing candidly. She also cited the movie ‘The Servant’ as a turning point in her acting career, confessing, “I thought I’d have to leave if things didn’t go well before thirty, but that project helped me grow as an actress.”
Meanwhile, the movie ‘Killer Report,’ starring Jo Yeo-jeong and Jung Sung-il, is scheduled for release on September 5th. Jo Yeo-jeong shared, “I’m really anxious about the movie premiere. Audiences come to the theater because the movie convinces them to. It’s about acting well enough to make it worth watching in a theater. When asking people to come to the theater, you need the confidence that ‘their money and time weren’t wasted.’ In that sense, I am nervous,” she conveyed.
