Jo Joon-young of ‘Spirit Fingers’ is set to showcase an unstoppable breakout character! Romance with Park Ji-hoo also anticipated.

[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter SeoYeon Jeong = Actor Jo JunYoung presents ‘Nam KiJung’, interpreted with his unique sense through the new drama ‘Spirit Fingers’, adding a message of empathy to the story of youth conveyed by the work.

Exclusively releasing on TVing on October 29th (Wed), ‘Spirit Fingers’ (Directed by Lee CheolHa / Screenplay by Jeong YoonJeong·Kwon Iji / Original Naver Webtoon ‘Spirit Fingers’ by author Han KyeongChal / Produced by Number Three Pictures·MI·Kenaz) is a work depicting a colorful healing romance of youths searching for their own colors. 

Jo JunYoung expressed great anticipation about the drama production news as a fan of the original webtoon with the same name, saying, “When I first received the script, the colors of each character were diverse yet definite, and it contained chemistry, healing, and growth.” 

Explaining his reason for choosing the work, he said he really wanted to participate. Regarding the character KiJung he played, he showed special affection, stating, “He is a character possessing a harmless yet strong charm, and I greatly desired to act it personally.”

In the drama, KiJung is the delightful vitality of ‘Spirit Fingers’ and a free-spirited soul. Jo JunYoung explained, “In one word, ‘My Way’”, saying, “He acts according to his thoughts without being swayed by surrounding views, but is a firm person when there is work to do or a line to protect.” 

He also mentioned, “A character with a candid and strong center even within unpredictability,” which stimulates the growth of the achromatic girl Song WooYeon (Park JiHu) as a reversal charm.

As KiJung teaches diverse colors to WooYeon, and KiJung learns new emotions by meeting the opposite, timid WooYeon, the blooming youth romance within becomes another expectation point of the work. Regarding the relationship between the two characters, Jo JunYoung stated, “Although initially bewildered due to how different their personalities and perspectives are, they uniquely accept each other’s differences without prejudice and fill in their lacking colors together,” and described, “The comical yet sweet chemistry makes their relationship warmer.” 

The healthy relationships of youth beyond mere romance raises expectations.

He also shared behind-the-scenes stories of filming with the ‘Sfi members’. Jo JunYoung first mentioned, “Whenever filming the Sfi croquis meeting scenes where all colors gathered, it was always enjoyable and novel. By immersing themselves in their characters, the ad-libs that naturally emerged completed the chemistry,” boasting warm teamwork. 

Additionally, “The atmosphere on set was truly bright and pleasant, and often felt like real friendship while acting. Exchanging each other’s energy created genuine ‘youth’ moments,” sharing the warm-hearted ambiance on set, raising expectations for this vibrant energy to be transmitted through the video.

Lastly, “The long webtoon is definitely structured into a 12-episode drama, capturing it interestingly and warmly,” he asked original fans for anticipation.

Expressing confidence, he added, “Since a lot of aspects like makeup, character personalities and backgrounds, and iconic scenes were implemented, it will be fun to compare with the original.” 

Continuing, “‘Spirit Fingers’ is not just a simple youth romance, but a story of everyone finding self-esteem and their own colors,” reflecting on the meaning of the work, and leaving a warm message, “I think there will be many scenes viewers can empathize with. I hope watching the work becomes a time to laugh a lot, heal, and find one’s own color.”

The new drama ‘Spirit Fingers’ will be exclusively released on TVing on October 29th (Wed).
