Jeong Dong-won, comeback with a new trot song today (11th)… after 1 year and 2 months.

Singer Jeong Dong-won returns with a new song after 1 year and 2 months. Jeong Dong-won makes a comeback by releasing a new digital single ‘Gori’ on the 11th.

This new song comes about 1 year and 2 months after the mini-album ‘Collection Vol.1’ released in 2023.

‘Gori’ is a minor ballad adult contemporary song that embodies Jeong Dong-won’s unique poignant voice.

It sensuously portrays sorrow, pain, and longing, and the emotions are highlighted to climax at the peak of the track.

Especially, the cello and viola solo performances in the intro and outro decorate the climax at the song’s start and end.

Jeong Dong-won lyrically interprets ‘Gori’, a word with various meanings, as an emotional bond between people or in a love relationship.

The song conveys that love does not always bring happiness but also pain, suggesting that love relationships are always tied by contrasting emotions, leaving a profound impression on listeners. The new song includes participation from top domestic session musicians such as guitarist Ham Chun-ho, drummer Kang Soo-ho, and backing vocalist Kim Hyun-ah, enhancing musical completion.

Lyricist Jo Eun-hee, one of the country’s top lyricists, participated in crafting poetic and emotional lyrics.

After a busy year of activities including appearances as a sub-character and K-pop idol JD1, broadcasts, and performances, Jeong Dong-won offers this long-prepared song to express gratitude to fans who waited for his new song, promising a high-quality track that captures the essence of autumn.

The music video released along with the song elevates the song’s engagement with a storyline encompassing the complex emotions given by love.

The two music video teasers previously released heightened anticipation with visuals conveying the lonely and hollow atmosphere of autumn.

Jeong Dong-won’s new song ‘Gori’ is released today, the 11th, at 6 PM via various music sites. Meanwhile, Jeong Dong-won has perfectly succeeded in transforming his image as K-pop idol JD1 in previous activities.

He successfully wrapped up activities in Japan through the release of the Japanese version single ‘Error 405 (ERROR 405)’, and with the recent release of the remake digital single ‘Take Responsibility’, he is receiving much love for its addictive song and performance.

Additionally, he is emerging as a well-rounded artist, gaining attention through various entertainment programs such as ENA’s ‘City Z in the Countryside’. Reporter Park Se-yeon psyon@edaily.co.kr
