Hong Kong Week 2025 to Hold Free Concert at Nanji Hangang Park

A special free event will be held in Seoul as part of the global arts festival ‘Hong Kong Week 2025@Seoul’ hosted by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, it was announced on the 11th.

 

Scheduled to take place on October 11th at Youth Square, Nanji Hangang Park, ‘Garden of Dreams: Concert and Movie’ is organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and planned by the Hong Kong Next Generation Arts Association (HKGNA). This event is the first program to be held overseas and consists of outdoor music performances and movie screenings that audiences of all ages can enjoy comfortably.

 

The performance will feature a duet stage by Korean singer Park Jung-hyun and Hong Kong pop star Jonathan Wong, as well as performances by violinist Janice Wong, singer-songwriter mue, Tao Tao, and Gino from both Korea and Hong Kong. Additionally, harmonica player Sai Li, singer Sunwoo Jung-a, violinists Andrew Ling and Baek Joo-young, and the HKGNA Young Virtuosi Ensemble will take the stage.

 

The concert, hosted by MC Kang Soo-jung, will showcase a variety of genres including pop music, classical music, drama OSTs, and Hong Kong movie soundtracks. After the concert, the Hong Kong movie ‘An Autumn’s Tale’ starring Chow Yun-fat and Cherie Chung will be screened, and it is suitable for ages 12 and up.

 

HKGNA is a non-profit musical charity established in Hong Kong in 2009 by Korean pianist Michelle Kim. The organization has contributed to raising the profile of Korean classical music and expanding musical exchanges between Korea and Hong Kong through annual music festivals, according to the organization’s spokesperson.

 

‘Hong Kong Week 2025@Seoul’ follows previous events held in Shanghai in 2019, Guangzhou and Hubei Wuhan in China, and Bangkok, Thailand, and will be held in Seoul this year. The festival, officially opening on September 26th, includes 14 programs and over 60 performances covering dance, music, film, visual arts, fashion, and more.

 

The organizers stated, “This event aims to promote Hong Kong’s arts and culture while expanding cultural exchange between the two countries, creating a unique experience set against the backdrop of the Han River sunset.” The event is free to attend and provides a nature-friendly environment where participants of all ages can enjoy a picnic.
