Guri City in Gyeonggi Province will host a large-scale autumn festival against the backdrop of the largest cosmos garden in the metropolitan area.
Guri City announced that the “2025 Guri Cosmos Festival” will be held from the 26th to the 28th at Guri Hangang Citizen’s Park. Under the theme “Following the Cosmos Flower Path, Into Autumn, Into Guri,” the festival will take place in a 90,000㎡ cosmos garden.
During the festival, various performances will be held on the special stage at the grass plaza. On the 26th, the eve of the opening, a concert by singers and a drone show are scheduled, and on the 27th, the opening ceremony will feature popular songs and trot performances. The closing ceremony on the 28th will be decorated with fireworks.
A photo zone harmonized with cosmos flowers will be created at the festival site, and booths for traditional markets and small businesses, as well as various experience booths, will be operated. Especially through the “Three-Day Stamp Tour” program, visitors can explore not only the festival site but also Guri Traditional Market and downtown shopping areas.
This year’s festival will newly showcase Guri’s unique traditional folk game, “Beolmal Bridge Stomping.” Additionally, there are various programs where people of all ages can participate, such as the Cosmos Tour Train, Old School Uniform Experience, Life Photo Shoot, and Nostalgic Classroom of the 70s and 80s.
Guri City announced that it will expand transportation facilities in anticipation of increased visitors during the festival period. By extending village bus routes and operating temporary parking lots, transportation inconveniences are minimized, and preparation for safe festival operation by deploying on-site safety personnel and conducting pre-education is completed.
A city official said, “This year’s cosmos festival is planned as a complex festival combining flowers, culture, and the local economy,” and added, “We will do our best to ensure that many citizens and tourists can enjoy the festival conveniently and safely.”
Guri Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun stated, “The Guri Cosmos Festival has established itself as a representative autumn festival in the metropolitan area,” and emphasized, “Through this festival, we will widely promote the charm of Guri City and realize ‘Joyful Change, Happier Guri’ where local culture and economy grow together.”
