KBS announcer Eom Ji-in confessed that she is living a geese lifestyle alone in Korea. It was also revealed for the first time on the broadcast that her husband and children are residing in Japan.
On the KBS 2TV entertainment program ‘Boss in the Mirror’ broadcast on the 3rd, announcer Eom Ji-in was shown preparing a Korean language lecture for foreigners and sharing her life and concerns as a goose mom.
In conversation with junior announcer Kim Jin-woong’s mother, Park Jin-sook, Eom Ji-in said, “I am also a mother raising a son. But I love broadcasting, so I remain in Korea. My husband is working as a university professor in Japan, and the kids live with their dad in Japan.”

Eom Ji-in revealed, “Since I spend considerable time away from my kids, sometimes they only respond briefly during video calls, which saddens me.” She continued, “My son only says ‘yes’ or ‘no’, and my daughter only replies to my ten messages with one voice message. Honestly, even though she’s my daughter, it feels disappointing.”
However, she added, “When I asked my kids, ‘Aren’t you upset that mom goes for work like this?’, they said, ‘It’s sad mom isn’t here, but it’s really cool that mom is an announcer,’ which was comforting.”
Park Jin-sook, as a senior working mom, shared practical advice, saying, “When I was away from my kids, I tried to build emotional bonds. I’d go on trips once a year and spend time eating delicious food together.” Eom Ji-in nodded deeply in agreement.

During the broadcast, suspicions about Eom Ji-in’s transition to freelancing were also raised. Eom Ji-in recently revealed that she met Jeon Hyun-moo after leaving KBS to visit MBC. Jeon Hyun-moo shared that he gave her a tour around Sangam-dong. Kim Sook then jokingly questioned, “Are you announcing your freelance status?” to which Jeon Hyun-moo added humor by saying, “She mentioned ‘it’s nice that everything’s gathered around here’ about fifteen times.”
Meanwhile, Eom Ji-in also explained on the broadcast how she came to be in charge of a special Korean language lecture for foreigners. She proudly stated, “My alma mater contacted me, saying students wanted to learn Korean from me. There are over 50 applicants.” She has actually completed a course for a Korean language teaching certificate.
Born in 1984, Eom Ji-in joined KBS as an announcer in 2007. She married in 2014, had a daughter in 2015, and a son in 2017. Currently, her husband and two children live in Japan, while Eom Ji-in remains in Korea for her broadcasting activities.
