Yura, formerly of the group Girl’s Day, is challenging the icon of first love with the new movie ‘Houchi’.
On the 7th, the distributor JC Entertainment Works released a still of Yura in ‘Houchi’.
‘Houchi’ is a romance where ‘Jaehak’, who has failed both in business and family and is left with only loyal friends, receives an unexpected call one day and recalls his 18-year-old days and first love, leading to a new life.
Yura, who debuted in 2010 with the group Girl’s Day, has received public admiration and love not only on glamorous stages but also by appearing in various entertainment programs.
In 2012, she showcased her potential as an actress by delivering a natural performance in the drama ‘To The Beautiful You’, and after taking her first lead role in the 2014 drama ‘Be Arrogant’, she successfully established herself as an actress, starring in several works such as ‘Weather People: Cruel Story of Office Romance’ and ‘This Romance is Uncontrollable’.
In this work, she captivates attention by announcing her meeting with the audience as the ‘icon of first love’.
In the movie, Yura plays the role of ‘young Kyunghwa’, the first love who ‘young Jaehak’ falls in love with at first sight, giving him both thrilling love encounters and painful farewells.
Director Kim Myung-kyun said, “I needed an actress with a clean, bright, and lovely image, and the moment I first saw Yura, I thought she was the one.
She was unanimously cast by all the staff,” he revealed.
It is reported that Yura perfectly portrayed the image of a first love in the film, from the bright and radiant moments of falling in love with ‘young Jaehak’ with her beautiful appearance and candid personality speaking in a Busan dialect to the poignant moments of farewell.
The acting ensemble of Yura and Oh Jae-moo, who played ‘young Jaehak’, is expected to evoke the excitement of youth in first love, greatly enhancing the immersion of the viewers.
‘Houchi’ will be released on the 13th. Reporter Lee Joo-in juin27@edaily.co.kr
