Singer Sung Si-kyung (46) is reported to have suffered financial damage from a manager he worked with for over 10 years.
On the 3rd, Sung Si-kyung’s agency SKJaeWon stated, “It has been confirmed that Sung Si-kyung’s former manager acted in a way that betrayed the trust of the company in the course of performing their duties.”
SKJaeWon recognized the seriousness of the issue through an internal investigation and is confirming the exact extent of the financial damage.
The employee who caused damage to Sung Si-kyung and the company has resigned and is known to have been acquainted with Sung Si-kyung from a previous agency.
The manager, who moved to the agency set up by Sung Si-kyung, was responsible for performances, events, broadcasts, and advertisement appearances.
Sung Si-kyung, who has shown affection and trust towards his company staff, is said to be deeply saddened by this incident.
Recently, a staff member who appeared on Sung Si-kyung’s YouTube channel ‘Decorate It’ suffered from malicious comments, and there were numerous comments calling for staff changes.
In response, Sung Si-kyung posted on social media, “If I have to change staff to become cool, I’d rather not become cool,” adding, “It’s not the fault of the stylist or the hair, it’s my face and hair that’s difficult to work with,” which drew attention.
He added, “I understand it might be said with the intention of hoping we do better, but could you not criticize the staff participating instead of me, really because I’m sorry?”
SKJaeWon stated, “We fully acknowledge our responsibility for oversight and management, and we are reorganizing our internal management system to prevent similar cases. We deeply apologize for the concern we have caused to the fans who love the artist.”
