[‘Daddy and I’] So Myung of ‘Bye Bye Ya’ is moved by his daughter Soyoumi’s first solo performance… Surprises her with a visit to her solo concert and supports her like a typical dad!

[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Han Kyung-hee = The protagonist of the national favorite song ‘Bye Bye’, 38-year veteran singer So Myung, showed warm father-daughter affection while watching his daughter Soyoumi’s independence.

Oh Kwang-rok, who reunited with his son after 7 years, promised to closely examine his son’s wounds, raising expectations for their relationship recovery.

In the TV CHOSUN broadcast on the 20th, ‘Dad and I’, Korea’s first trot singer family So Myung & Soyoumi appeared together.

Initially debuting as an idol, Soyoumi re-debuted as a trot singer and became both her father So Myung’s family and a senior and junior in the music industry. Soyoumi said, “After the failure of the idol group activities, the wounds were too big, but my dad scolded me a lot and helped me regain my mind. If it weren’t for my dad, I don’t think I could have become a singer now,” revealing that she was able to keep her dream thanks to her dad’s support.

However, Soyoumi also said, “No matter what I do, I can’t follow my dad’s standards,” feeling the pressure of being highlighted as ‘So Myung’s daughter’ wherever she goes.

Wanting to stand alone, Soyoumi decided to hold her first solo concert in Japan. Seeing the larger-than-expected venue made her feel overwhelmed, so she promoted it herself like Japanese singers promoting on the streets.

Despite handing out flyers along with the Japanese she had memorized hard, the cold reactions of people left the 14-year veteran singer Soyoumi humiliated. Still, Soyoumi said, “I don’t have time to be hurt since the performance is in a few hours,” doing her best by also performing street busking.

Just before the concert, silence filled the venue, and the staff’s words “If there are no audience members, we will have to cancel the concert” increased Soyoumi’s anxiety.

However, as the concert time approached, Soyoumi faced five audience members, including a long-time fan who has been with her since her idol days, over 10 years. Touched by the fans who came from Korea to Japan, Soyoumi focused on the stage with a restored spirit.

In the meantime, her dad So Myung made a surprise appearance as a late-coming audience member. Soyoumi said, “It’s not comfortable having my dad watch the stage. It felt like an audition.”

However, So Myung said, “There was nothing to worry about as I enjoyed it as an audience member for her first solo concert,” and was moved. He also got teary-eyed feeling sorry for his daughter on her difficult path.

Soyoumi expressed gratitude, “Having my dad in the audience cheering for me was a big support.” So Myung expressed his support by hugging Soyoumi, who began standing on her own, creating warmth.

Meanwhile, actor Oh Kwang-rok and his son Oh Si-won had their first meal together in over 30 years, successfully reuniting after 7 years. Although it was awkward, the two began sharing daily stories as they got to know each other’s tastes for the first time.

In the midst of this, the story of Oh Kwang-rok’s recently deceased mother came up. Oh Si-won had not been in contact with his paternal grandparents for nine years due to conflicts with his dad. In a pre-interview, Si-won’s grandmother was still alive.

Oh Si-won considered meeting his dad to improve his relationship with his grandparents, but during that time, he heard about his grandmother’s passing. Oh Si-won tearfully regretted, “I decided to change my mind, but it was too late when I did.”

Nevertheless, Oh Si-won bravely said, “I’ll visit my grandfather while he’s alive,” and Oh Kwang-rok smiled happily at his son’s promise.

Oh Si-won revealed to Oh Kwang-rok, “I thought, I shouldn’t live like my dad.” He conveyed his longing as a child for the father who was always absent. Although they met occasionally as father and son, Si-won needed a father who was present in his daily life.

In response to his son’s lament, Oh Kwang-rok said, “Although I was a father who couldn’t live with you, I tried to be there when needed,” stating he did his best within his capacity.

Oh Si-won added, “The counselor told me that I should have confirmed the childhood wounds and received an apology, which was a great comfort,” revealing that the wounds were not healed but festering.

He cautiously expressed his hope to his dad, “Shouldn’t I have heard an apology from you at least once, before it gets worse inside…”

Oh Kwang-rok, who had been listening silently, responded, “I knew you were angry but didn’t deeply examine it. Instead of apologizing, I will delve deeper into your wounds and talk.”

Oh Kwang-rok thought, “I shouldn’t just end it with a simple apology without understanding the exact wounds,” intending to look more closely at his son’s pain.

The story focuses on whether the Oh Kwang-rok father-son duo, who are gradually getting closer after a seven-year reunion, can heal their wounds.

In the next episode of ‘Dad and I’, chefs Yeo Kyung-rae & Yeo Min take on a fishing challenge. Yeo Min, who dreamed of fishing with his father, went to the fishing spot, but Yeo Kyung-rae wasn’t fond of fishing.

The sight of his father struggling made Yeo Min as happy as a child, sparking curiosity about the outcome of their fishing challenge.

Additionally, the story of Lee Gun-joo, who confessed to having a biological sibling adopted through a welfare institution at birth, will be revealed.

Lee Gun-joo went to France to meet his sibling who lives there, but was worried the sibling might not want to meet him.

During this time, someone approached Lee Gun-joo, and he burst into tears. The story of the Lee Gun-joo siblings finally meeting will air on TV CHOSUN ‘Dad and I’ every Tuesday at 10 PM. (Photo provided = TV CHOSUN ‘Dad and I’)
