With just two days left until the official final voting deadline for the 1st Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA), the competition in each award category is intense. The official third round of voting, which started on the 22nd of last month, is set to close on the 9th, with a fierce competition to select the best artists in each category.
This is because the third round of voting, which is the final, reflects 50% of the results, while the first and second rounds each reflect 25%.
In the KGMA Artist ‘Best Artist 10’ category, the vote difference between BTS’s V and Young Tak is within 5%, and in the ‘Best Adult Contemporary’ category, the difference between Young Tak and Lee Chan Won is within 10%.
In the KGMA Song ‘Best Song 10’ category, the vote difference between BTS’s Jimin and Do Kyung Soo is within 6%, and in the ‘Best O.S.T’ category, the difference between aespa’s Winter and ATEEZ’s Jong Ho is within 7%, making the competition intense.
Meanwhile, in the 2nd round of ‘Luluwa x Fancast Most Popular Award’ closing on the 9th, the gap between Lee Chan Won and Taemin is widening.
The final winner is expected to be decided in the final voting, which will be conducted with real-time onsite voting from the 11th until the awards ceremony day.
The 1st Korea Grand Music Awards, a new popular music award show presented by the nation’s top entertainment and sports magazine Daily Sports, will be held on the 16th and 17th in Inspire Arena, Unseo-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon. On the first day, Artist Day, NewJeans member Hani and actor Nam Ji Hyun will host, featuring performances by NewJeans, Do Kyung Soo, TVXQ, BIBI, STAYC, (G)I-DLE, Young Tak, Yoo Hway Seung, Lee Mu Jin, Lee Young Ji, Jeong Dong Won (JD1), Zerobase One, QWER, Taemin, P1Harmony (listed in alphabetical order), and others. On the second day, Song Day, aespa member Winter and Nam Ji Hyun will host.
