The new KBS 2TV Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Face Me’ (Directed by Jo Rok-hwan / Written by Hwang Ye-jin / Produced by Westworld Story), scheduled to premiere at 9:50 PM on the 6th, is a medical chase drama where a cold-hearted plastic surgeon and a passionate MZ detective chase the truth of an incident through reconstructive surgery on crime victims.
A day before the first broadcast, the highlight video released today (the 5th) features the tumultuous surgery story of plastic surgeon Cha Jeong-woo (played by Lee Min-ki) and the meeting with MZ detective Lee Min-hyeong (played by Han Ji-hyun). The unique combination of plastic surgery and crime already captivates viewers deeply.
The video initially shows Jeong-woo focusing solely on surgery without batting an eye despite patients’ earnest requests, capturing attention. He proudly showcases his swift hands while conducting surgeries, fully displaying his ace-like qualities. However, he angers patients and guardians by saying things like “I don’t do reconstructive surgery” in front of burn patients. Despite his excellent surgical skills, Jeong-woo rigidly walls himself off from patients, leaving the hospital in constant turmoil. The resulting tumultuous episodes are expected to amplify the show’s entertainment.
The appearance of Min-hyeong in a bold dress with her shoulders exposed surprises. While conducting undercover investigations, she swiftly pursues and captures criminals, showcasing her unique charisma and flashy action. Anticipation builds for Han Ji-hyun’s perfect portrayal of her police role.
The confrontation scene between Jeong-woo and KSH Chief Surgeon Kim Seok-hoon (played by Jeon Bae-soo) is also intriguing. Seok-hoon discovers a collapsed trauma patient and engages in a sharp debate with Jeong-woo over whether to perform surgery. Jeong-woo suggests transferring the patient to a university hospital emergency room, refusing surgery, while Seok-hoon insists on proceeding as it’s an emergency.
Eventually, Jeong-woo performs emergency surgery on the female victim and further supports medical treatment for crime victims. Thus, surgeon Jeong-woo and detective Min-hyeong engage in a collaboration that isn’t quite cooperation, striving to do their best in their respective roles but soon clashing as the drama reaches its climax.
Meanwhile, a suspicious movement is detected, heightening dramatic tension. As curiosity about the hidden stories of someone’s past grows, the broadcast heightens anticipation to discover who is targeting Jeong-woo and what the truth of his past is.
The new KBS 2TV Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Face Me’ is set to air its first episode at 9:50 PM on the 6th (tomorrow) following ‘Dog Sound’.
