[ Asia Economy ] CJ ENM’s K-pop content platform Mnet Plus announced on the 6th that it has concluded Season 1 of its original entertainment show ‘Hide and Seek’, which premiered last March.

‘Hide and Seek’ is a survival entertainment show where seekers and K-pop artists engage in a survival game for 4444 seconds. Inspired by the traditional Korean game hide and seek, the show took place in various locations such as schools, police stations, water parks, abandoned factories, and theme parks. It introduced a ‘Fanteractive’ structure allowing both fans and artists to participate simultaneously, increasing immersion.

So far, the cumulative view count of ‘Hide and Seek’ related videos has reached about 14 million views including social networking services (SNS), and the unique users based on a single intellectual property (IP) have exceeded 1 million. It also ranked 3rd in contributing to new subscriber inflow for Mnet Plus this year, driving key traffic.

Groups TREASURE and NCT WISH appeared as protagonists in March and April, respectively, taking first place in subscriber contribution for two consecutive months. Especially, the NCT WISH episode saw daily active users (DAU) surge 1200% following the main broadcast, gaining explosive reactions.

Additionally, a total of 8 teams including RIIZE, ZEROBASEONE, TXT, ALLDAY PROJECT, TWS, and BOYNEXTDOOR participated as players.

Mnet Plus stated, “We are pleased that our first original entertainment has firmly positioned as an IP loved by the global fandom,” and “Next year, we plan to expand the universe and enhance fan-participatory interaction elements to present greater immersion and fun.”

‘Hide and Seek’ will return with Season 2 next year.
