[ Asia Economy ] Group BTS’s oldest member Jin has entered the Billboard main chart with his first solo album.

On the 25th (Korean time), the U.S. music specialty media Billboard announced on its official website that BTS’s Jin’s first solo album ‘Happy’, released on the 15th, entered the main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ (November 30 edition) at 4th place. Jin achieved the remarkable feat of entering the ‘Billboard 200’ with his first solo album.
Billboard reported that ‘Happy’ recorded album sales of 66,000 copies, SEA units (streaming counts converted to sales) of 8,000 copies, and TEA units (digital music download counts converted to sales) of 3,000 copies.
With this, BTS has become the only K-pop group to have both the group and individual members reach the top 5 of this chart. Previously, BTS had topped the ‘Billboard 200’ six times (‘LOVE YOURSELF 轉 ‘Tear’’, ‘LOVE YOURSELF 結 ‘Answer’’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA’, ‘MAP OF THE SOUL: 7’, ‘BE’, ‘Proof’).
In solo activities, RM charted with ‘mono.’ (26th), ‘Indigo’ (3rd), ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’ (5th), Suga, under the name Agust D, released ‘D-2’ (11th) and ‘D-DAY’ (2nd), J-Hope with ‘Hope World’ (38th), ‘Jack In The Box’ (6th), ‘HOPE ON THE STREET VOL.1’ (5th), Jimin with ‘FACE’ (2nd), ‘MUSE’ (2nd), V with ‘Layover’ (2nd), and Jungkook with ‘GOLDEN’ (2nd).
Jin is hitting a ‘career high’ with his solo album ‘Happy’. The new title track ‘Running Wild’ broke Jin’s own solo song records by topping charts such as the world’s largest music streaming platform Spotify’s ‘Daily Top Song Global’ (8th), ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ (10th), and the UK Official Singles Chart (25th) shortly after its release.
