Spotify Year-End Review… Rosé’s ‘Apartment’ Ranked 6th Despite October Release

(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Lee Tae-Soo = The K-pop star who received the most love from the world’s largest music platform, Spotify, this year was revealed to be BTS.
According to Spotify’s year-end review data released on the 5th, BTS was the K-pop artist whose music tracks were streamed the most globally this year, reaching 3.9 billion streams.
BTS members Jungkook and Jimin secured the second and fourth spots respectively, demonstrating their high popularity even during military service. Stray Kids was third, and girl group NewJeans ranked fifth.
The most streamed K-pop track worldwide was Jimin’s solo title track ‘Who’ from his second album.
Jungkook’s solo debut track ‘Seven’ and the title track ‘Standing Next to You’ from his first album secured the second and third positions, respectively.
V’s solo track ‘Love Me Again’ took the fourth spot, and girl group ILY:1’s debut track ‘Magnetic’ ranked fifth.
BLACKPINK’s Rosé partnered with pop star Bruno Mars on ‘APT.'(Apartment), which gained sensational popularity worldwide despite its release in October, reaching sixth place.

The artist with the most streams globally this year was Taylor Swift, with 26.2 billion streams, securing the top spot for two consecutive years. She was followed by The Weeknd (2nd), Bad Bunny (3rd), Drake (4th), and Sabrina Carpenter (5th).
The most streamed song of the year was Sabrina Carpenter’s hit ‘Espresso,’ recording 1.6 billion streams. It was followed by Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things,’ Billie Eilish’s ‘Birds Of A Feather,’ Floy Menor and Chris MJ’s ‘Gata Only,’ and Teddy Swims’ ‘Lose Control,’ ranking 2nd to 5th respectively.
