Actress Lee Min-young opened up about rumors of her broken engagement.
On the 6th, on the SBS Plus·E Channel entertainment program ‘SoloRasa,’ Lee Min-young shared a story about being hurt by past rumors.
Friends visiting Lee Min-young’s home mentioned the rumors she suffered from in the past.
Lee Min-young married actor Lee Chan in 2006 but broke up after 12 days, after which she was plagued by rumors about her private life.
Friends lamented over the rumors about Lee Min-young, saying, “There are still many unfair and nonsensical stories being told. We wonder where such stories originate.”
Lee Min-young said, “At that time, I couldn’t talk about it. I thought, ‘If I talk, it’ll just get noisy again,’ so I kept my mouth shut, which has become a deep regret even now.” She added, “Upon searching the news, I realized there were numerous incredible stories being cemented about events that never occurred.”
She confessed, “False stories kept spreading, and as rumors snowballed, I didn’t know where to start to untangle them.”
She continued, “Even though I was an adult at the time, I think I was immature. Because of that, I couldn’t handle my own matters well and it was a time when I was physically and mentally hurt, so I couldn’t figure out what to do.”
She recalled, “I wasn’t very expressive, so when such things happened, I was even more at a loss for words. It felt like I had aphasia and became tongue-tied. It feels like it could be a perennial regret.”
Lee Min-young shared, “These days, I don’t think about dating at all. My romantic feelings seem to have died. Being an introvert (I), I feel I need to be chosen by an extrovert (E). Even when I was dating, it seems that when someone approached me first, I dated them out of gratitude. Even when I liked someone, I couldn’t express it actively. Even when I didn’t like it, I just said, ‘Yes, yes.’”
