Actor Kim Nam-gil produced the film ‘How to Open a Door’, which is gaining attention, and has released unique stills from its fantasy world. ‘How to Open a Door’ is a short film that tells the story of Haneul (Chae Seo-eun), a young adult preparing for independence, whose home disappears overnight, and her struggles to find it.
The released stills offer a glimpse into Haneul’s special adventure in search of her vanished home.
Following this, the images show a real estate agent (Shim So-young) introducing a home to Haneul, who is preparing for independence, and Haneul’s orphanage friend Cheolsu (Kim Nam-gil) holding back narrowing walls with both arms. The world Haneul encounters after opening a strange door on Cheolsu’s guidance is a different world from reality.
In this unique space, a guide with a mysterious atmosphere whom Haneul meets catches the eye, appearing to be the same yet different from the real estate agent.
Also captured are scenes that further pique curiosity about the film: Haneul’s friend Yeong-hee (Noi Jin), who was a rival in a folk music club, giving a big smile to Haneul who is working at a car wash; Haneul and the car wash owner (Go Gyu-pil) looking at a yellow bird; and Haneul’s bewildered look at a lost children’s center. Meanwhile, ‘How to Open a Door’ is a work created by Kim Nam-gil, who is active as the head of the cultural arts NGO Gil Story, in collaboration with KB Kookmin Bank to support young adults preparing for independence, and it will be exclusively released at Lotte Cinema on November 20th.
