[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter HyeonHoon Jeon = Alternative K-pop group Balming Tiger’s member Mudd the student will release the first full album ‘LAGEON’ at 6 PM on the 25th.
‘LAGEON’ is an album that honestly captures the process of Mudd the student understanding himself through music, reflecting his complex identity and awareness of the era.
Mudd the student condensed the experiences and emotions he accumulated by learning music alone through the internet as a child into this album.
The internet is the key keyword of ‘LAGEON’, conveying emotions created when the world in the screen clashes with reality, indelible records and traces, wounds and recovery from relationships as the album’s message.
In an era where everything is lightly consumed in spaces accessible to anyone, it points out the spirit of the age and converts personal pain and trauma into musical narratives, forming empathy with listeners.
Musically, Mudd the student’s continuous experimentation with genre disassembly and combination stands out. Mudd the student, who led the songwriting, composing, and arranging of every track, completed a broad sound spectrum with the co-producer JNKYRD.
By breaking the boundaries of various genres and combining electronic music with noise and hip-hop on the texture of 90s alternative rock, it implements a new form of sound.
The title tracks selected include three songs with different emotions: ‘Undertaker’, ‘Phoenix’, and ‘Good Job’, with a total of 14 tracks included.

Participating in the featuring are singer-songwriter Parannoul, who is gaining attention in the global indie scene, rapper-producer Harto Falión of New York collective Surf Gang, and Japanese underground musician that same street, who creates Vocaloid screamo music, further enhancing the experimental nature of ‘LAGEON’ beyond borders and genres.
Visual and creative direction was handled by Balming Tiger member Chanhee Hong.
To visually implement the album’s narrative, a total of seven music videos in various forms such as animation, home videos, and short films have been produced, expanding the emotions of each track and showcasing the album’s worldview in three dimensions.
Meanwhile, ‘LAGEON’, which highlights Mudd the student’s unique story and experimental attempts, can be enjoyed on various online music sites from 6 PM on the 25th.
Simultaneously with the release, one of the title tracks, ‘Undertaker’, music video is scheduled to be revealed through Balming Tiger’s official SNS. [Photo = Balming Tiger, CAM provided]
