
Actress Sunwoo Yongyeo (Jeong Yongrae, 79) shared her thoughts after visiting ‘Mosu Seoul’. Mosu is a fine dining restaurant by Chef Ahn Sungjae, who appeared as a judge on the Netflix series ‘Black and White Chef: Cooking Class War’, and was once awarded 3 stars in the Michelin Guide.
On the 17th, a video titled ’81-year-old Sunwoo Yongyeo, Followed by Her Daughter, Had a Big Fight’ was uploaded to Sunwoo Yongyeo’s YouTube channel ‘Sunpoong Sunwoo Yongyeo’.
In the video, Sunwoo Yongyeo drives her car to a broadcasting station in Seoul. In the passenger seat is her daughter, singer Choi Yeonje (Kim Yeonje, 56). Choi Yeonje, who holds U.S. nationality, currently resides in the U.S.
Choi Yeonje said, “I feel a bit sorry seeing mom driving all the time in Korea. Here (in Korea), I can’t drive,” adding, “I think I should get an international driver’s license.”
In response, Sunwoo Yongyeo laughed and said, “It’s not comforting for me just because my children come for 7-10 days to drive me around. I don’t like someone else driving me.”
As the mother and daughter continued their conversation, the production crew asked, “We heard you two recently went to ‘Mosu,’ can you share your feedback?”
Upon hearing Mosu mentioned, Sunwoo Yongyeo sighed and remarked, “When I was 70, my daughter took me to France to visit a Michelin-starred fine dining restaurant.”
She shared her thoughts before the Mosu visit by telling her daughter, “I really don’t want to go. No matter my age, 80, spending that much money on a restaurant is really not for me,” but she eventually accompanied her daughter because she said, ‘Mom, just this once.’ Mosu’s dinner course costs 420,000 KRW per person.
Sunwoo Yongyeo scrunched her hand and said, “Things start coming out this small. Three pieces of shrimp serve as an appetizer; if you just think of it as a picture, it’s like an accessory for the eyes,” while grimacing.
Continuing, she said with an expression of disbelief, “My daughter kept saying ‘delicious’, she was ecstatic.”
Sunwoo Yongyeo sighed again, saying, “Wasn’t delicious when I thought about the money. The thought of money drove me crazy.” Choi Yeonje, who was listening, nodded in a troubled manner.
Choi Yeonje conveyed Sunwoo’s actual reaction, saying, “There were a few things mom liked. Chef Ahn personally made soft tofu with sea urchin inside, and she really liked that. She said the idea was really good.”
