Actress Park Kyu-young has officially apologized for the spoiler controversy regarding ‘Squid Game’ Season 3. She expressed her apologies to the production team and fellow actors and acknowledged her lack of responsibility towards the work.
In a recent interview, Park Kyu-young expressed deep reflection on her immature actions. She repeatedly apologized, saying, “I am truly sorry for disappointing the viewers.”
After posting the controversial photo, Park reported that she immediately contacted director Hwang Dong-hyuk and actor Lee Jin-wook to apologize. Director Hwang advised against reoccurrence, while actor Lee Jin-wook reportedly showed a comforting response.
Park Kyu-young expressed her regret for causing spoilers in a situation with high expectations for Season 3 and stated that she had a period of deep self-reflection due to this incident.
While Netflix did not mention specific penalties for breach of contract, Park explained that they requested caution regarding exposure on the filming site. She also added her resolve, “I will be more careful in the future.”
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk commented on the controversy, expressing an understanding of it as a human mistake and suggested leaving it as a minor happening. He conveyed that while some viewers may feel uncomfortable with the spoiler, he seeks understanding.
Park Kyu-young, stating, “I learned a lot from this controversy,” expressed her intention to strive to become a more mature actress. She emphasized her commitment to focusing more on her work to meet viewers’ expectations and to act more cautiously and responsibly.
