[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Seo-Yeon Jung = Actor Na-Ra Bae will appear in the musical ‘Bonnie and Clyde’.
The musical ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ is based on the true story of two real-life figures ‘Bonnie’ and ‘Clyde’ during the Great Depression in the United States in the 1930s. It tells the story of two people who longed for freedom meeting like fate, falling in love, repeatedly stealing cars and robbing, and shaking the world.
It debuted on Broadway in 2011 and received tremendous love, and in Korea, after its premiere in 2013 and its re-run in 2014, it will meet the audience again 11 years later. With all the cast and direction newly reconfigured, it is expected to captivate the audience’s eyes and ears with a charm different from before.
Na-Ra Bae plays the protagonist Clyde Barrow (hereafter referred to as Clyde) in the play. Clyde is a charming young man who wants to become a legendary criminal.
After returning to the stage about a year and six months since the musical ‘Evil Dead’ in June last year, Na-Ra Bae has delicately portrayed characters with intense yet complex inner worlds, such as Myung-Ryeol Yoon in ‘Vanishing’, He in ‘Thrill Me’, and the Man in ‘Hymn of Death’, leaving a strong impression.
Expectations are high on how Na-Ra Bae will reinterpret and express Clyde, who also possesses a fatal charm and complex emotions, in his own style in this work.
Since leaving a strong first impression on the public through the Netflix original series ‘D.P. Season 2’, Na-Ra Bae has been building his own unique acting color by completing a charming villain character in ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ and more.
Currently, he is playing the role of ‘Sang-Hyun Baek’ in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama ‘Universe Merry Me’, challenging a romantic comedy for the first time in his career, showcasing a new charm.
Meanwhile, the musical ‘Bonnie and Clyde’, featuring Na-Ra Bae, can be seen at the Hongik University Daehak-ro Art Center Grand Theater from December 11 to March 2, 2026.
