Lee Dong-hwi reveals unexpected update a year after breakup with Jung Ho-yeon… Acts alongside actress Bang Hyo-rin, 10 years younger, in a romance
Actor Lee Dong-hwi (41) is set to meet viewers in KBS 2TV’s one-act project ‘Love: Track’ with a new piece titled ‘Onion Soup After Work’.
This is his comeback nearly a year after announcing his breakup with model Jung Ho-yeon last November.
‘Love: Track’ is a 10-episode romance anthology depicting different forms of love stories, a project that expands the tradition of KBS’s one-act plays in a modern way.
‘Onion Soup After Work’, featuring Lee Dong-hwi, delicately portrays the changes and emotions that unfold when a menu item, which was the only comfort to a weary office worker, suddenly disappears. Lee Dong-hwi takes on the role of Park Moo-an, a pharmaceutical sales representative who endures his days eating humble meals at the company. When his regular restaurant’s onion soup vanishes, he sets out to discover the reason, facing unexpected relationships and emotional changes.
The counterpart role is played by newcomer actress Bang Hyo-rin (31). Bang Hyo-rin embodies Han Da-jeong, a chef running a French home-style restaurant, portraying a warm character who feels happiness from seeing customers enjoy her food. A push-and-pull romance with Moo-an is set to unfold around the backdrop of Da-jeong removing onion soup from the menu.
The emotional chemistry between the two and the unique rapid pace of the one-act play raises expectations for what kind of synergy they will produce. ‘Onion Soup After Work’ will air on the 14th of next month at 10:50 PM.
