This year, ‘Escape with Seonjae’, ‘Queen of Tears’, ‘Jungnyeoni’, ‘Marry My Husband’, and ‘My Mom’s Friend’s Son’ ranked from 1st to 5th in the 2024 TV drama appeal rankings, with ‘Queen of Tears’ recording a peak viewership of 31%, cementing its position as a drama powerhouse.
Varied in genre, entertainment shows like ‘You Quiz on the Block’, ‘Seo-jin’s’, ‘Amazing Saturday’, ‘Sister’s Local Delivery’ were also showcased.
Furthermore, tvN retained the top position for two consecutive years in the TV channel segment of the ‘Broadcast Channel Brand Power Index (BPI)’ survey conducted with viewers.
Conducted annually since 2012, the BPI survey is designed by CJ ENM in collaboration with an external research firm. It quantitatively measures brand competitiveness based on consumers’ perception of brand value, consumer behavior, and quality-related factors.
It surveyed 3,000 viewers aged 15-64 from Seoul, the metropolitan area, and six major cities who watched over 1 hour of broadcast/OTT program in a week, across 19 channels including terrestrial ones. In the ‘2024 BPI Survey’, tvN scored 47.2 points among its target audience of men and women aged 20-49 to seize the top spot, followed by MBC, SBS, KBS, and JTBC.
