[ Asian Economy ] The group (G)I-DLE, in their 7th year, have reached their golden age. Following their first grand prize, they moved fans with the announcement of their contract renewal with their agency.
On the 2nd, their agency Cube Entertainment announced, “After in-depth discussions with the members of (G)I-DLE, we have completed the contract renewal with all the members, including Soyeon, whose exclusive contract had already ended, as well as Miyeon, Minnie, Yuqi, and Shuhua, who still had existing contracts.”
Cube said, “We are grateful to (G)I-DLE for dreaming of soaring higher based on solid trust relationships and completing the contract renewal, and we are sincerely grateful to the fans who have waited a long time for this news.”
They added, “Through this contract renewal, we will further solidify the brand that (G)I-DLE has built over the past 7 years,” and “We will continue to provide full support so that they can reach a wider stage and higher places.” However, they did not disclose the exact renewal period as each member has different contract timelines.
Previously, (G)I-DLE leader Jeon Soyeon announced on the 30th of last month at the ‘Melon Music Awards (MMA) 2024’ held at Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon, after receiving one of the four grand prizes, ‘Record of the Year’, “There were many articles saying that (G)I-DLE will disband or end because my contract ended. But instead of going solo, we decided to renew together.”

Through social media on the 1st, Jeon Soyeon shared, “For 7 years, we have shared joy, sorrow, despair, hope, and various emotions together, and it seems like the five of us have become stronger,” expressing her affection for the team. “I am so happy and proud that I can continue to be the leader of a team called (G)I-DLE for a long time to come,” she stated with affection for the team.
