LE SSERAFIM became the first K-pop girl group to perform a solo stage and grab a trophy at Europe’s biggest music awards.
LE SSERAFIM attended the ‘2024 MTV Europe Music Awards’ (MTV EMA) held at Co-op Live in Manchester, UK, on the 10th (local time).
They were nominated in three categories: Best Push, Best New, and Best K-Pop, and were invited as performers for the main awards ceremony.
LE SSERAFIM became the center of attention as the only K-pop artists invited to the ‘MTV EMA’.
The prominent UK media outlet BBC published a preview article on the day of the ceremony, stating, “The K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM, which has achieved amazing success in the US, will have their first stage in the UK.
They are expected to deliver a sophisticated and polished performance,” expressing their anticipation.
Additionally, ceremony host Rita Ora mentioned in an interview with local media THE MANC, “Every artist on the stage is perfect, but the rehearsal of the K-pop girl group LE SSERAFIM was truly impressive,” highlighting LE SSERAFIM as a must-watch performance. LE SSERAFIM made their appearance with a vogue dance to the mini 4th album track ‘Chasing Lightning’.
The mega crew performance with 20 local dancers boasted a level of difficulty and completion fitting the reputation of ‘girl group performance masters’.
As the mini 4th album title track ‘Crazy’ began to play, cheers erupted from the audience.
The five members overwhelmed the crowd with their sophisticated performance, confident attitude, and choreography utilizing the stage 360 degrees.
LE SSERAFIM was named the winner of the ‘Best Push’ category, making them the first K-pop girl group to do so.
They won the trophy in competition with prominent musicians such as Chapel Ron, Teddy Swims, and RaeBay. The members expressed, “It was amazing to perform in the UK for the first time, and we never imagined we would win an award.
We sincerely thank all the fans who have supported LE SSERAFIM’s journey.
This award was possible because of everyone’s continuous support.
We want to dedicate this honor to our fans,” they conveyed in their acceptance speech.
