[Seoul=RNX News] Reporter Kim Ye-eun = SBS ‘Three Perspectives’ delves into the unavoidable and unstoppable human destiny, ‘aging,’ from three perspectives.
Broadcasting on the 7th (Sunday) at 8:35 AM, SBS ‘Three Perspectives’ begins by asking the heavy question, “Is aging fair to everyone?”
To explore this, MC Kim Seok-hoon wears an ‘elderly experience kit’ to personally experience an aged body. While trying to pick up cue cards on the floor with tools that bind his back and knees, Kim Seok-hoon can’t straighten his back and shakes his head, saying, “This puts a lot of strain on my knees.”
Even though it’s just a simple experience, the cast realizes “aging is this fearsome” as they find even small daily movements challenging.
Historian Jung Jae-hwan connects this experience to history. A small clay doll discovered by a farmer digging a well in China’s Xiang village and the subsequent ‘Terracotta Army’ excavation showed Qin Shi Huang’s obsession with immortality.
Qin Shi Huang, who unified the country at 39, searched for an ‘elixir of life’ and eventually died consuming mercury-laden pills. It’s the most dramatic example of human obsession leaving its mark against unstoppable aging.
The show ‘Three Perspectives’ then highlights an individual known as the ‘modern-day Qin Shi Huang,’ American entrepreneur Bryan Johnson, who invests about 2.7 billion won annually in his body, making headlines by reversing the biological age of organs like the heart and lungs to that of a teenager even at 47.
The core management secret he chooses is ‘NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide).’
Essential for cellular energy production, NMN rapidly decreases with age, and recent studies have shown it helps remove the Alzheimer’s-causing substance ‘beta-amyloid.’
Regarding this, MC So Seul-ji openly shares blood test changes after taking NMN for two weeks, surprising everyone.
After observing the test results, pain medicine specialist Lee Jae-chul remarks, “The blood vessels have become clean and flexible,” interpreting it as, “So Seul-ji’s aging clock has slowed down,” drawing attention.
How So Seul-ji’s scores, which were on the verge of danger, changed will be revealed on SBS ‘Three Perspectives’ episode 12 ‘Aging’ airing on September 7th, Sunday at 8:35 AM. (Photo courtesy = SBS ‘Three Perspectives’)
