[Asia Economy] The group ILLIT held a showcase in Tokyo, Japan on the 1st to commemorate the release of their first single ‘Toki Yo Tomare’ and unveiled the stage for the title track, BELIFT LAB announced on the 2nd.
Approximately 550 fans who won pre-entries and numerous media personnel attended the event, and about 300,000 fans worldwide connected through live streaming on YouTube and TikTok.
The performance began with the pre-released song ‘Topping’. The lively melody and the catchy lyrics “Top Top Topping” along with a refreshing performance heightened the atmosphere. Following that, the title track ‘Toki Yo Tomare’ elicited cheers with its disco pop sound, spell-like lyrics, and choreography mimicking a clock’s second hand.
ILLIT expressed, “We are delighted to meet ‘GLIT’ (fan name) closely on such a special day. We look forward to getting closer to the fans supporting us in Japan,” sharing their thoughts in Japanese. They further added, “We will become artists who spread positive energy. Please watch over our growth warmly.”
‘Toki Yo Tomare’ topped the real-time rising chart on Japan’s AWA music site immediately after its release, and the music video ranked 5th on YouTube Trending Worldwide.
The single includes a total of four songs, and the physical album will be released on the 3rd. ILLIT plans to hold a fan concert ‘2025 ILLIT GLITTER DAY IN JAPAN’ at Osaka Castle Hall on the 3rd and 4th. This performance has sold out all seats, including general assigned seating, restricted view seats, and standing area.
