BTS V’s ‘Slow Dancing’ surpasses 500 million streams on Spotify.

[ Asia Economy ] BTS member V (real name Kim Taehyung)’s solo song ‘Slow Dancing’ has been streamed 500 million times on the world’s largest music platform, Spotify.

According to his agency BIGHIT MUSIC on the 23rd, V’s first solo album ‘Layover’ title track ‘Slow Dancing’ recorded a cumulative 500 million streams as of the 21st. This is the third track to surpass 500 million streams, following ‘Love Me Again’ and ‘FRI(END)S’. With this, V now has a total of 12 tracks with over 100 million streams on Spotify.

‘Slow Dancing’ is a Pop R&B genre based on 1970s Soul sound, featuring a structure with jazz elements and an impromptu flute performance in the latter part. V’s romantic and leisurely vocal blends together to complete the unique tranquil atmosphere of the song.

This song immediately ranked 51st on the US Billboard main singles chart ‘Hot 100’ and 24th on the UK Official Singles Chart ‘Top 100’ after its release in September 2023.

‘Layover’ ranked 2nd on the US Billboard main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ and received a Gold Disc ‘Platinum’ certification from the Japan Record Association in 2024.
